Add a birthday calendar function to the forum?

I've just noticed the "Birthdays" Thread

Is it not possible to add a calendar function to the forum? It would be especially useful if it could pick up birthdays from user profiles (where those dates have been set). Then people could choose to keep their birthdays off the calendar by not setting the date in their profile.

Here's the debatable part: If it were a "members only" facility then those who would want to add anniversaries of various sorts would be free to do so without worrying about the "data scrapers" out there.

Thank you for the suggestion!  I'll look to see if there is something I can add that will notify members of other's birthdays.
