Unwanted body hair
« on: April 15, 2011, 06:35:06 AM »
What to do, what to do?

I am a pretty hairy 23 year old and unfortunately it does bother me. I usually trim the hair on my arms, chest and stomach every month or so, but I have real difficulty with the hair around my neck and on my shoulders. This is the kind of hair I don't want to see, ever. Too bad it is always there.

Anybody 'suffer' from similar unwanted body hair? Any advice on keeping it away?

I tried shaving with and against the grain the other night, and a few days later I have the worst feeling stubble I've ever felt. I'm also seeing a few ingrown hairs coming along. Not just that, I really don't think I could sustain keeping it shaved for the rest of my life. I'm thinking next about waxing strips and body hair removal cream. Supposedly they will leave you smoother for longer and reduce the impact of stubble.

I think waxing might be the best option for you but I'm guessing some areas are hard to reach for you?

BTW my body hair looks like it's from the 99 ct store  :o - very sparse.

Thankfully,  I also love my body hair!  Which is a good thing since I am hairy both FRONT and BACK!  So it would be a real chore for me to remove it!  But if you are also naturally balding like I am,  you should know that the same genes and hormones that make one bald will often give you a hairy body.  Next time you are at the beach , take note of how many hairy bald men there are!

Razor. Just wanted the guy to know that he was not alone if he was dealing with MPB and was hairy!  Yeah, it would be pretty lame if I was. Going to the beach to look for hairy backed guys in Speedos!   :/O

Don't know about the speedos -- no one over the age of 21 or so should ever be caught in one -- but I'll cop to checking out the hairy guys!

back to point options for remove of unwanted fur.
1. shave has you have tried
2. waxing (painfull last a few days or so longer no ingrown but hairs grow at different rates so wait days after a shave attempt before waxing you need a bit of hair to pull to get it smooth)
3. removal creams (less painful then waxing depending on strength and sensitive of lotion and skin stinks to high heaven could burn your skin.
4. laser treatment (expensive last the longest of all options if not permanent could be painful for a few days while skin heals)

Shaving with a razor like a Fusion in the shower every few days is quick & easy. You can also use a Norelco & you're not confined to the shower. You can do it while watching tv. Remington makes an electric shaver that has a handle that extends for shaving your back. I got one at Target. Shaving is still the cheapest, cleanest, least expensive & least irritating method for removing body hair.

Anybody who thinks it's quick and easy to shave off all body hair doesn't have an overabundance of it like some of  us do.

I used to have an overabundance of it. But I've been bodybuilding for many years. Some areas don't require the frequency other areas do. And you don't have to shave your entire body each time. You can split it up like a split training routine doing different body parts on different days. Doesn't take long to get proficient at it which cuts the time it takes way down.
