People really don't care

A friend of mine took a jab at how thin my hair is the other day so I responded with "Man, I should just shave it so you guys will leave me alone." Of course he goes on to tell me I don't have the balls to do it lol. I looked at him and said "What would you do after spring break if I came back with it shaved?"
A few moments of silence.
"I'd probably nod my head and say 'Hmm. You shaved your head.' and that's about it."
I get the feeling Razor X will be on me now since he told me to shave on spring break and it's here.

The people you care about will care, and they're really the only ones that matter.
I'm at an older stage in life. Things are more settled (hence a radical change elicits some strong reaction), but in younger years things are more fluid and flexible. The stumbling block is usually within us.
There will always be banter and nonsense - there's plenty of ammunition / inspiration on this site for good replies. But it sounds like you know that road well. In your post of March 7th you sound like you've made up your mind, but you're just hanging back to find the "perfect" time to jump off the fence. That moment in time doesn't exist - don't look for it. Decide to bite the bullet and do it. Interacting with people is part of "adjusting to it". No matter how long you have 'out of sight', engaging people and regular situations is all part of being the sly you and being confident as that person.
Shave at the start of the break -- that will give you time to play around with options (and that's actually quite fun).

You should know that Razor is the site "Enforcer". If you don't do as he says, he has access to unlimited funds to find you, track you down, and perform the said deed on you himself.
I would proceed with this yourself if I were you..... Razor is a scary man.............

With the amount of guarantees you have received I don't see how your not in the bathroom shaving it now. I will add to that and say you I guarantee you will like it. You will be so confident that your friends' comments will mean absolutely nothing anymore.

I think you are right- people really dont care. If you are thinning or receding, they think it is a natural thing to do!

I found this to be true myself. People don't really care. It may be a talking point for a minute or two, but after that everything just goes on as is.
As is the case with most things, the fear lies in the anticipation, not in the actual deed itself. I was losing my hair and I found it was actually much worse to try and hide my situation when it was clear to everyone that my hair was thinning and receding.
Just do it.

It will take years off your age. I'm in my mid 50's and I am now pegged as in my 40's. I love it.
As I told my wife... "Shave that thing"

hi this is kinda off subject but im 20 years old and about 6months ago i shaved my head with a 2 and noticed some thinning on my temple(slightly more to the middle of my hairline not right in the corner). i let it grow back out and i forgot all about it and a week ago i cut my hair short again and noticed the same spot is thinning but hasnt had any noticable changes, im not to worried about it but i would really like to know if it is MBP. and i was wondering if it can take that long to have a any noticable changes, or if there was no change (which there wasnt) in that period (6 months), is it most likely not MPB?? and also its only on one side.
i know this is in the topic but if annnnyone could help even a little i would really appreciate it...

It could be the start of MPB but it's impossible to say for sure. MPB can progress very slowly so it could be years before there is a noticeable difference. Whether it is or isn't MPB, there's nothing you can do about it so try not to obsess over it too much.

yup i know, i dont want to stress about it to much but i cant help to keep it in the back of my mind atleast a little bit until i find out for sure if im just crazy or if it is MPB, alsoo i noticed it is thinning on one side and it is the side i always tended to favor while i wore a hat, and i was wondering if that could effect the way my hair line while i was maturing and maybe just left a little bald spot??
