Considering returning to sly

Hey all
I was briefly a member here about a year ago with the username of Ozbaldyboi, but fell off the sly wagon and here I'am again!!
I'm 25 years old, have a full head of hair and basically I've always had a fascination for being sly but just never had the follow through. I think it's because I lacked self confidence and 'hid behind my hair' so to speak.I've dabbled with being bald by choice before but it just never stuck. I've recently been taking steps to return to the sly lifestyle and just wanted to join back up and say g'day!!
Returning to sly has been on my mind for a while after spending six months growing it back, but it just didn't stick. I then began getting it cut shorter and shorter until a month ago when I made the initial commitment to keep it buzzed for the remainder of the year. I had my hair buzzed to a number 1 and received great feedback and a big confidence boost again as I honestly feel great when I'm putting myself out there in such a brave manner.
A mate of mine who is bald because of MPB has been a great support and offering encouragement. Ultimately I'd love to have the slick dome like so many of you all as it just feels like the real me.I've also been thinking an image change may help me out with the ladies as I've improved my fitness and I guess I'm just trying to get myself to make that final commitment and be a bald man as it feels right. At the moment I'm just rocking the number 1/2 buzzcut but still have the urge to go further. I'm not sure what it is but the idea of having a slick dome just makes me feel more confident, stronger and hell even manlier!! Sorry if it sounds odd, but yeah this has been on my mind for a very long time!!

Welcome back fella. If the itch is there, scratch it. You know you won't be happy until you do. If the "real" you is sly at heart then be yourself. There are a lot of us on here who are BBC and have never looked back. You will find plenty of support for your choice

Nothing strange about your feelings. I've got a decent head of hair, yet really admire the sly look and will take the plunge shortly. My only regret is putting it off as long as I have. The guys on this forum are a great support. Go ahead and do it!

Welcome back. I'm new here myself having just jumped in a week ago. I say go for it.
You'll feel great and wonder why you didn't do it sooner like the rest of us when we did it.

Go for it - in your case it sounds as if it'll grow back if you flip back again

Hey guys, sorry for being slack!! Have been lurking all this time and still haven't gone for the slick dome look again yet!! Good news is that I've stuck to my original promise and have kept the hair as a number 1 buzz since March and have occasionally gone for the 0 too so I've come very close! Looking to become more active on the site though in 2012 and hoping to finally bite the bullet and become a smooth brova soon enough!

Here's my challenge to you, ThatFella ...
I feel in the same 'boat' as you. Don't have MPB, but would like to do sly. I've been buzzing for about four or five years now. Long enough to know I like really short hair. Currently buzzing the back with no guard and #1 on top.
On January 21st, I'm going to shave it bald. It's a Saturday. I'm going to visit a bald friend to walk through the first shave with him. It's a good time to do it. And you won't be the only one.
Just do it. Will you join me?

Mr Zed wow that is a proposition indeed haha! Ironically the best time for me to take the plunge is now as I'm on holiday until 16 January. I took my first plunge into having a slick dome back in my Christmas holidays 2 years ago in fact before returning to work. I shall think about your challenge for sure.

Well, if you are ready to go sly today, just do it. don't wait for me. But if you need the inspiration, motivation, or someone to do it with .... I'm game. But I have to wait until Jan 21 as noted elsewhere on SBG.
So I'll slightly modify my challenge. Do it NOW or at least by Jan 21 and do it with me. How's that?

Hmmm you are certainly sparking my interest Mr Zed, plus I suppose I'm not too far off being fully sly as the photo is me down to a zero not too long ago. The main issue is the upkeep for me to be honest! I wil see how the next few days pan out and see how I go I promise!!
