CETAPHIL Daily Gel Cleanser
« on: February 12, 2011, 10:34:21 AM »
Has anyone ever tried a daily gel-like cleanser called CETAPHIL?

This brand line of products has been around since the discovery of dirt, but more than likely, it's superior cleansing power to get your skin/scalp extremely clean has been probably overlooked by many - more than likely, simply because of the length of time it has been around!!

I saw a big pump bottle of this cleanser in my teenage son's bathroom and when I asked him how he liked the stuff, he said he started using this stuff a few months ago and it was some of the best stuff he had ever used for eliminating excess oil build-up on his skin. (No-he's NOT sly).
(I have noticed his skin's appearance has GREATLY IMPROVED over the last few weeks, but I was unaware of what he was using)

So, when taking a shower that night, I thought I'd experiment on the 'ol melon.

Isn't science wonderful?

RESULTS:

CETAPHIL STRIPS the skin of EXCESS OIL, WILL NOT IRRITATE or DRY OUT YOUR SKIN (EXTREMELY GENTLE, Yet VERY POWERFUL Cleanser!!

I was soooooooooooo impressed with the way it cleansed the skin, I then added a bit into my shave gel, applied the mixture to my scalp, then proceded to srcape away.

AMAZING, LOVEABLE, IRRESISTABLE RESULTS!!

CETAPHIL line of products can be found at most nationwide common name retailers - Wal-Mart, K-Mart, Rite-Aid, CVS, Walgreens, etc.

Noodles what are you using after your shave ?

Currently, I finish my routine off with a splash of WITCH HAZEL, bite my tongue until the initial sting wears off, then I'm good to go!!

I picked this up just today I've only had little samples but was impressed on the results shown on both face and head.  Very gentle cleansing for a good clean

Hey man if you like Cetaphil, you HAVE to try Sebamed!
I've been using cetaphil for years and never found a huge problem. My wife bought this Sebamed kit from Costco half a year ago, let me tell you, it feels completely different (in a good way)
I started doing a little research and here's a little summary about Sebamed...
Our skin/scalp has a natural protective layer called acid mantle, which is a little acidic (pH 5.5). most shampoo/wash/lotion out there have a much higher pH (yes, Cetaphil included, as mild as it seems) , so when you use products with the wrong pH, it strips away this layer and makes your skin/scalp dry, and then very oily to make up for the dryness   :-X
Sebamed was originally for people with sensitive skin, so their wash/shampoo/lotion are all pH 5.5, keeps your skin and scalp healthy.
Not irritating at all. After I use the shampoo, I never feel that tightness and dryness on my scalp. I also use their face and body wash, which is great because I get lazy, but this wash is good for both face and body.   O0

I've never seen Sebamed over here, but I also swear by cetaphil. I made a sugar scrub with the cleanser, man is it good.
