PARANORMAL??
« on: January 30, 2011, 08:11:16 PM »
Hey yoooz guys,

Listen.....Sorry for the length of this....

I’m a pretty practical guy.   Pretty centered…almost 50.....not a superstitious guy by any stretch.  But I am aware that there are “things” out there that can be considered, well,  “paranormal”

Well last night I had some trippy stuff happen.  Wanted to share.  And this was out of the blue….not triggered by watching or reading anything about the paranormal.  Or by drinking or smoking anything....I was STONE SOBER and WIDE AWAKE.

We live in a ranch-style home, the 4 of us, my wife, 11-yr-old daughter and 8-yr-old son.  THAT’S IT, OK.
My son had fallen asleep in my easy chair so I moved him to the couch so I could do some reading.  After I moved him, I was in the kitchen getting something to drink.  There’s a door way from the kitchen that is open to the hallway that leads to our master bedroom.

My daughter was in bed with my wife and they were both reading.

So I’m at the sink turn around to see my son—who I assume woke up from my transferring him to the couch--pass by the kitchen door way quietly sneaking to our room to join my wife and daughter.  I thought, “that little son of a gun, he was REALLY quiet sneakin’ to our room…..didn’t even hear the bedroom door open.”

So I go over to the couch in the living room to gather up the blanket he fell asleep in….and there he was still fast asleep.

So I thought, “Hhhhmmmm…..maybe it was Bekah (my daughter) who very quietly came out to get something.”

So I go into the bedroom and ask if she had just walked by the kitchen and back to the bedroom.  My wife says, “Honey, neither of us has moved for the last hour.”

So I said, “Now this would be weird, because he’s fast asleep on the couch right now….but did Preston come in here?”….they both said NO and asked what I was getting at.  So I told them and it freaked them both out.  I wasn’t freaked out, just very curious.

I DEFINITELY SAW a child walk by the kitchen door down the hallway….but come to think of it; it was SILENT….and we have hard wood floors with a basement beneath.  And I never heard the SLIGHTEST sound of the door opening….even very quietly.  Which is why I thought, “That sneaky son of a gun.”

Then when I settled down to read, I had my cell phone next to me.  Now it’s a NEW htc EVO 4G smart phone and doesn’t “act up”….it goes into sleep mode and the screen shuts down until you press the button at the top to turn it back on…PERIOD…the only way it comes out of sleep mode is if it rings or one of my calendar reminders comes on….PERIOD.  I only put it on silent mode when I’m in a meeting….PERIOD….So I’m reading with just a reading light, and my phone comes on and lights up the area….now that rattled me.   So I’m staring at it and it goes back off…..sleep mode doesn’t kick in until after 10 minutes….or you push the button at the top…PERIOD…..

So it comes back on again after about 30 seconds “by itself”…..and then goes back off “by itself”  IT NEVER DOES THAT…..NOW HERE’S the Really freaky part…..

My phone is next to me right now…and it just did the same thing as I’m writing this…

So, back to last night…..after reading and just not letting the whole “unexplainable” bother me, I’m grabbing a midnight snack from the fridge…my son is still asleep on the couch….my wife and daughter have now fallen asleep in the bedroom.
And sure enough….I see this “kid” silently sweep by the door AGAIN toward the bedroom…and I just freeze, mid-chew and my heart’s crankin.  I go over to the couch….my son’s still there fast asleep….I peak in the bedroom….my wife and daughter are fast asleep.

***gulp***  I saw this U.S.K. TWICE within 2 hours (Unidentified Sneaking Kid).

Wow!

I love these kinds of things. I'm from a long line of people that have seen many, many "unusual" things over the years. I'm a believer.
There are just things that we can't explain and don't yet understand.

Definitely.

We have a show over here called Most Haunted.

I went to see one of the psycics on it called Derek Acorah. He had a large sign on the stage saying

"To the beleiver no proof is necessary, to the non beleiver no proof is possible"

i have friends who beleive and friends who dont. And the ones who dont will NEVER beleive.

Our house is older, not antebellum, 1867.  A friend who is a CPA and does a lot of individual income tax work found herself in a problem several years ago when her office needed renovation in the middle of tax season.  So, she used our guest house in the back--originally part of the kitchen since they were always separated from the dwelling to help keep houses cooler and to limit the possibility of fire to the main structure.
One weekend, while she was working she said she was looking out the window and saw our youngest seated on the rear step area.  She saw a woman in a blue dress talking to her.  A little later when she took a break she came out and seeing our daughter asked her who the woman in the blue dress was.  Our daughter said there hadn't been any woman or anyone else in the yard, blue dress or otherwise.
Note:  one of the prior owners of the house in the nineteenth century was the widow of Prudent Mallard, a famous Louisiana furniture maker who bought it after her husband died and she closed up his house and shop in the Vieux Carre.  I don't know who the ghost was, but our friend is a very serious person not given to flights of fancy.

I was not a believer in the paranormal until shortly after my wife's passing.  I was laying on the couch watching TV with my dog.  All of a sudden he perked up and started whinning.  When I looked at him, out of the corner of my eye, a white mass (large cloud) passed by us and out the back, closed, door.   Many have said it was a sign from my wife letting me know she had passed to the other side and that she was alright.  I must mention that she passed away at home.

My grandson/daughter are twins born 7 years ago in Colorado. After my wife and I came back to northern WI after they were born we had to put our 2 Akitas down due to age/infirmity. Neither of the grandkids had ever met the dogs. About a year after this my stepdaughter and the kids were riding in the car and the kids had just learned to talk. My stepdaughter calls us from the car and says that my grandson just said "Hi Kepi, hi baby" from the backseat of the car. My stepdaughter asked him who he was talking to and he told her "I'm talking to Kepi".
Kepi was our female Akita.
I'm of the opinion that kids, especially the younger ones, are more receptive to this because they have not had their openness trained out of them. But I am envious of you guys who have had these experiences.

Here's a thread I started a year or so back with some amazing stories. Hammerdrill's story in particular moved me.

This is a great thread for the newer guys to check out.... and even if you read the thread before, the stories are worth another read.

We have many paranormal type stories in my family. I think the "other side" is much closer to us than we realize. It's nothing to fear as the spiritual world is actually far more real than what we temporarily know in this life.
Our country demands all our strength, all our energies. To resist the powerful combination now forming against us will require every man at his place. If victorious we will have everything to hope for in the future. If defeated, nothing will be left for us to live for.

OK.....have since found out that the phone antics were not paranormal activity...

But the sighting of the little boy darting down the hall still baffles me.

i'm mexican... we're raised believing in all kinds of silly paranormal stuff... in mexico, some super scary stuff happens at night... i have seen some crazy stuff over there... like the guy riding the giant horse that breathes smoke and makes fire come out of his hoofs... it was loud, scary, and the next day they told me it was the devil himself looking for souls... that morning a couple blocks away some drunk bum was found dead... crazy...

anyways... i don't believe in the unexplained, but some stuff is just that... un explainable... just one thing you should NOT do, is get a oujia board or mock the spirit... oujia boards are bad news... our family had a hard time dealing with one many years ago... but don't be scared... it's not going to do anything to you...

now... if it were an alien... OMG... i'm terrified of the thought of aliens... those things can walk thru walls... where are you going to hide...? you can't...

A short ghost story from my house. We used to have a single wide trailer that faced east/west but got a double wide and had it angled so its more north/south. In the old place my mom said she had a creepy feeling when my sister was born, she announced that this is a house of God and went on a speach about it, the creepy feeling went away. When they were digging to put in a new power line in here for the new place they were digging and came upon a weird cavern type thing. It was about 4' under the yard but inside it was about 8' tall and about 15' around in a perfect circle. Right in the center was a black pyramid shaped rock. There were no entrances or anything and we have no naturally occuring rocks in the area, especially no black rocks, mostly granite.
After we got the new place all set up my sister kept saying she had a weird feeling going near her closet which was right over the edge of the cavern. One night she refused to sleep in her room because she heard mens voices, we thought she was fibbing at first but for a week she got creeped out by her room. I slept in there just to prove her wrong but that night  I heard mens voices, they were muffled but you could tell there were 2 men talking and laughing in a creepy way. The next night my brother heard the same thing when he slept in there. We had our pastor come out and he read some verses and splashed holy water around then smudged the house and proclaimed it as a house of God. After that there were no strange voices and me and her swapped rooms, no creepy feelings ever since.
