Sometimes it's about the giving

So what was the one thing that you gave someone that totally blew their socks off?  
For me, I gave my wife her favorite perfume.  She didn't realize that I knew what it was (even though she left the empty container on her dresser so I could get the name right   ).

It's really cool how sometimes things line up to be in the right place at the right time to help someone else in their time of need.

A couple of weeks ago a customer on my pest control route was giving away an older refridgerator that he was using as a beer fridge in his garage. Nothing wrong with it but he had updated some appliances and moved the one in his kitchen to his garage and was gving away the existing one in the garage. I picked it up from him intending to use it in my own garage but a couple of days later my wife heard of a family who were unemployed and their own refridgerator was broken and beyond repair. For us it was a no brainer. We had it delivered to them a couple of days later.  Did not get to see their reaction but it felt good to be part of the supply chain for those in need.

Like John, I once received a freezer from someone that we were going to use, but found out an hour after receiving it that someone I knew needed a freezer as they were about to have a baby and people were offering up meals that they didn't have anywhere to store.  I picked up the freezer and drove it straight to their house and it turned out to be the perfect size.

Thanks Magoo...it's not about "us" though. Its about God. He knows what he is doing. The route this customer is one is not one I regularly service but for some "reason" on this day I was put there.
