Remington SCC100 Short Cut Hair Clipper
« on: December 11, 2010, 09:27:40 AM »
Hi all,

Has anyone tried these (Remington SCC100): http://www.amazon.co.uk/Remington-Groom-Innovation-SCC100-Clipper/dp/B001675466

How short is the balding attachment that comes with it? At the moment I buzz my hair with the 3mm attachment (1# I guess).

Thanks,
1mm

Before going sly, I have been using it for a few months. For some reason the version I got didn't come with a balding attachment. I used it with and without the trimming guard and liked it. You can have it if you want. :)

I purchased one about 18 mo ago and in less than a year the charging light failed and shortly after the entire clipper took a sh**!   don't waste your money.

How short do you really want to go?  Once you get shorter than a #0, you're going to look completely bald so it might be cheaper and easier just to shave with a blade.

If you really want a clippers that cuts super short, try the Wahl Balding Clippers.  They cut, I think to a #00000 or #000000 -- about as close as you can go without shaving.  You have to be careful you don't pinch your scalp with them, though, because they do cut really close.

I have this and have used it with and without the little balding guide. It is basically a clipper shave without the guide and slightly longer with the balding guide. It is useful, due to its curved shape for buzzing body hair as well as thats a need you have too btw.
A better choice is the Conair Clean Head Shaver. It has both an elcetrice razor type blade curved for head shaving and a clipper type adjustable blade with guide combs for very short lengths.

Bought it yesterday. Buzzed my hair with the #1 (2mm). But I think I might try the balding comb... Not sure how much hair it lefts. the manual says something about 0.6mm.

I use the Wahl Balding Clippers and even I have to look close to see what's left.

I have used the balding comb and it is basically a ckipper shave or a bit longer. Mine has died though and will no longer hold a charge. It lasted about 3 years.

Looks great witht he beard hair all the same length. Next you should try it without that balding comb. That will be more of a true clipper shave. It would take maybe 3 days at most to get back to where you are now.
