What a marvelous shave I just had. The irritation that plagued me for the first few weeks has completely subsided. My head is smooth and clean - almost looks like I had every last follicle zapped with a laser. This can be glorious and oh so liberating. Too bad the stupid stubble will be back in the AM. Still haven't made the move to shaving in the AM. That's next. Anyway, this is a bit of a pointless post, but I wanted to share my jubilation. I am so thankful that I've had this site to visit and revisit. It has made the difference between my hiding in the shadows and my now walking with my gleaming, shaved head held high. What a great group of guys you really are.

Don't you just love days like that?

And you are a great addition to the group, Jack!

That's what we told you. I was thinking this morning that 2010 has been a great year for liberating guys and particularly those who had taken the rug route. At least five I can think of had pitched the beast that held them down. Remember sharing your story, letting people see how you progressed, being open about what so many guys would prefer to hide has helped not only those who have joined up and cleaned up since you did, but also has affected and continues to help guys who are lurking, held hostage to their own fears. You've accomplished more than your own freedom, you have lifted up others.

Spreading happiness and good vibes is never a pointless act. Glad you're enjoying the hair-free lifestyle!
i know what you mean dude. i just got done shaving (day 2) and it feels soooooooo much better than yesterday...ahhhhhh
The best thing to hear is that some young man who was considering the hair transplant route has changed his mind since reading my tale or has decided to ditch a toupee after seeing that my doing so did not result in my death but actually was quite liberating. I still go to the hair transplant forum regularly to warn everyone. I am ok with my scar now - not 100% but a whole lot more comfortable than I was before. It is amazing how liberating not living a lie is. That terrible fear of something happening to my hair piece and being exposed for a fraud used to just eat away at me. No more.

The subject line to this thread pretty much summarizes how I feel after each shave. Good for you, Jack, for being there, too!
Jack, glad to hear you are doing so well and getting some great shaves. I went sly a week ago today and have had 4 fantastic shaves since. I actually let out a "wow" in the shower the other day.

Sanitc, I am one of the "2010 Rug Ditchers," thanks to all you guys. It's been really great. Guys who are seeking freedom from the rug need to understand what a great option going sly is.

And lurkers & fencers, listen up, you can be free too. Make your life easy, sly in 2010!
