Ready for the holidays?
« on: December 05, 2010, 03:04:12 PM »
We got the tree--real--, it's in the stand--lights are still in the storage box and the lights are my job--ornaments are my wife's responsiblity.  Outside lights went up today.  Some shopping done not enough, but real men shop Christmas Eve, don't they? :D

How about you guys, ready?  Tree up?  Real or artifical? Shopping?

Absolutely not, my sisters birthday is today (the 5th) and I couldn't even get her a present I feel really bad. Supposedly I will be getting some money (maybe $50) from someone in the next week or so and I'll buy her something then. I don't know what I will do for Christmas presents. If I need too I'll apply for welfare and will get Medicaid to cut down on my medical bills. I'm hopefully going to get the Christmas lights out of the attic today and I'll put them up if I get some free time today, if not I'llll do them tomorrow. I'll put up our fake Christmas tree after.

Outside lights went up last weekend. Tree is up and lit. Ornaments are a work in progress.

Put up outside lights and decorations for an elderly neighbor today.

Nice move, totally in the spirit of the season and it goes with the chin whiskers--did you wear a red suit?  ;D

I helped my dad with his lights and outdoor decorations this weekend.  I'm taking tomorrow off to work on my own.  I've got most of my shopping done; no cards sent out yet.

Tree up (artificial) Shopping is still a four-letter word!! (LOL)
Just hate to even think about getting mixed up in the mall crowd! But finding the time is the real issue... just don't seem to have any!!

Son's birthday is also in December, which tends to stretch both the wallet and thinking process of what to buy for which special day and when to give what gift when! It'll all work itself out - it always does...but the key is getting through it without stressing out!! Better lace my egg nog with a splash of Bacardi to mellow out before turning in...(LOL)

Artificial tree and lights went up on Thanksgiving before company came.  Did shopping last night.  I also make jam as homemade gifts.  So I still need to do that.  Cards and letters I will hopefully get done this week.  I gotta hurry especially if my surgery is able to be scheduled soon.  I plan on putting lights on my mom's house tomorrow.

Like Bald Bradley, I'm dealing with making a December birthday very special  :@`and has nothing to do with that far off Holiday that's in a few weeks.
Once the birthday celebration is done, then I can begin to get out the decorations.   ???

She really likes to decorate, but just can't manage it on her own anymore. We go all out at Halloween too (which is actually her favorite holiday).

Everyone in the neighborhood (including us) get to enjoy the decorations, so I figure it's worth giving up a few weekend afternoons.

did you wear a red suit?  ;D
No, I wore shorts and a t-shirt. Gotta love central Texas!  O:O

Artificial tree is up (decorated mostly by my wife and daughter).  Outside lights and decorations up.  Next is haulting more indoor decorations from the basement but almost done.

My shopping is about 75% done, mostly done online, but a little brick-and-mortar shopping done on Saturday.

Words to live by. I stay far, far away from any and all retail stores this time of year.

Anyway, we haven't done much for the season, yet. The artificial tree (all of the needles are different crazy colors - the wife's choice) and decorations have yet to be put up. I've just been feeling incredibly lazy ever since Thanksgiving! Probably sometime later this week!
However, shopping is mostly done. Just one or 2 more people to buy for. Most people will receive individual mugs we personalized for them at Zazzle. Figured we'd throw in some gourmet teas and hot chocolate and what not. Nice and easy.  O0

Tree and lights are up. Tree is artificial.

Wife has done some shopping for our daughter but I am a last minute guy when it comes to that sort of thing.
Our country demands all our strength, all our energies. To resist the powerful combination now forming against us will require every man at his place. If victorious we will have everything to hope for in the future. If defeated, nothing will be left for us to live for.

Just spent over an hour messing with the branches on a FAKE CHRISTMAS TREE! I swear my OCD has made my social life nonexistent  :-\

I haven't even gotten started on the lights and ornaments, I have a feeling I am going to be up all night.
