All right you all, knock it off right now.    Ok, that's settled.  Once again the Marines have to come in and clean up the mess the rest of you left.  Hence the term "America's Finest"

No matter how much firepower or ordnance you use, it always takes a soldier or a marine with a bayonet on the end of his weapon to go in and finish the job.

I almost branch transferred over the Marines from the Army in mid 1985 but I was close to pinning on captain and would have lost the rank to go BACK through OCS and start over again as a Marine 2LT. Although I would have been paid as a 2LT over 4 years, it would have been a dramatic pay "loss" to decline my Army captain promotion and in essence, start over again.  I always looked forward to training with Marines and they had a very common sense approach to planning and executing deployments and operations that I have fouind lacking in  many Army units over the decades.
