I moved in with my cousin and his wife awhile back for various reasons. My cousin John has always had a full head of hair, just keeps it short. After work we always sit in the hot tub for guy time and just talk about everything, out there is basically the man cave since his wife rules the rest of the house. Depending on where he sits there is a porch light that would be behind him. Every time he sits in that one spot it showed how much his hair was thinning and I always pointed it out.
The day before I planned on shaving my head again we were talking about it and he was saying he thought he would look good with a shaved head then said he was gonna do it. He often talks about doing stuff but never acts on it so I brushed it off. His wife said that she would punch him in the face and divorce him if he ever did. He thought about it then went to the bathroom and locked the door and the clippers went on. His wife went to see what he was doing and the door was locked. She was all "John honey, John what are you doing?" the clippers continued and a maniacle laugh erupted from the bathroom and she tried to get into the bathroom. When he got out he buzzed it all the way down and she did punch him in the face.
I tried to get him to go smooth that day but he didnt want to and all week kept saying "maybe tomorrow". About half way through the week he said he thinks he could get a better shine than me even though he still had stubble. He bet me $5 that he could get a better shine than me so we planned it for last night, both shaved around the same time using the same stuff so it would be fair. He has no shine, my cheeks have better shine than his head. He said he loves the smooth feeling and all which is awesome. His wedding anniversary is Monday and his wife is griping and complaining to me about it because she wanted him to have hair for when they go out to dinner. She was all happy when he had a weeks worth of stubble because a couple weeks of growth would look normal according to her. I told her that smooth will look better than stubble, more crisp and clean. She hates it still but I told her that after a month of him being bald if she still hates it I will give her $100. She thinks she will still hate it but I think its gonna 'grow' on her. I brought up the classic point, its his hair and he can do what he wants, he doesnt tell her how she can and cant style her hair so she shouldnt do it to him.
He is starting to get some acne from wearing his hat that he hasnt ever washed in the couple years he has had it. I warned him that he needs to go hatless if he is going to be bald. He said he isnt used to not having anything on his head and the hat is just out of habit, he always just puts it on when he heads out the door. I need to figure out a way to get him to not want to wear a hat. Either way he loves the feeling of being bald, he envies my shine, I envy his lack of shadow since he is blonde. I'll try to post a pic before too long.
So tonight I was called a bad influence. She said she hated it and kinda blew up, I just laughed about it. I told her to give it a month and she said she doesnt know if their marriage will last a month. I find the whole thing funny that she is making it seem like his hair is what is keeping it together
Between the punching and the meltdown, sounds like they put the "fun" in dysfunctional. Good luck with that.
Maybe his wife thinks your cousin would better sporting
