shaving after summer question
« on: September 09, 2010, 03:17:25 PM »
Hi everyone,
I am new here. I was thinking of a hair transplant but I came across this site and figured out its a complete sh*t. I could try it given the option to shave the head if displeased with the result but I guess thats not possible, you have to live with the ugly transplants and a huge scar for the rest of your life

I liked shaving my head in the past (actually with a hair cutting machine at bare blade - no levels) but I got a bit bored of it and grew my hair back (bold spots on the top of the head)
Now I am thinking this looks like sh*t too so I am gonna shave the f*c*er again (sorry for the language, I do not know if its ok - I'm new here as I said)
Anyway, I was wondering If shaving it now would look bad since I was exposed to 3 months hot summertime without wearing a hat. So, would the top actually be too tanned while the sides white as snow? Would that look really ugly? Should I do it or wait?

Looks to me, stripped down, your post has your answer >:D.  Go ahead, scratch the itch, you've got good instincts for self-preservation.  The "tan" line disappears quickly, the scars never completely go away, and HT is painful!!!!  Clipper down, shower, lather, new blade, you're free.

Regarding language, and all the other stuff you need to know, check out the Posting Guidelines here: http://www.slybaldguys.com/smf/index.php?topic=723.0

See especially Rule 1:
The Golden Rules
   1. There will be no profanity or foul language. Any un-called for language will be removed and you will receive a final warning.

Regarding your head, you will probably have a two-toned effect. The degree of contrast between the two areas definitely depends on your natural skin tone and the depth of your tan.

One way to help soften the effect is to use something like Jergens Natural Glow Moisturiser. It gives a gradual tan without turning your skin orange the way some self-toners do. It will take about a week to reach maximum tone. Look at the packaging to see where it will end up.

Last, but not least, welcome to the forum. I trust you will find your association with SBG as rewarding as so many others of us do.

These guys pretty much said it.  You will have a tan line, but it will fade in a week or so.  Just don't wear hats for a month or so and you won't know any different.  Take a look at the 30 day rule video and stick to it. You won't be sorry.
