Shave Secret
« on: September 02, 2010, 07:32:20 PM »
I picked up some Shave Secret last week.  I tried it out tonight. Five drops in the palm. Rub on head. Wet it. Add Edge Gel.  It's the closest shave I've had yet. Shave Secret = good stuff.

Just started using it this week also.  I add a few drops in with my Headslick......lather it all up with a brush and apply. Gives a real nice shave.....and I noticed a few spots in the back of my had where i used to get a bit of drag now glide right along.   Good stuff!

I think a couple of spots I had have smoothed out already. It could be my imagination, but I'd swear they have.

I've only been able to find King of Shaves locally, but it works great.  I've heard that Shave Secret is even better.  Pretty amazing how well the oil works... definitely recommended.

I put Shave Secret oil on before using Bald Guyz Gel or C. O. Bigelow shave cream.....Fantastic stuff!  I also use King of Shaves, but much prefer Shave Secret.  Love the clove scent, also.

I have been a King of Shaves fan for some time, so when I went Sly it was my first choice for the new routine.  For about 20 minutes after shaving my head would look a little "raw" in some areas, but it would subside well before I got to work so it didn't really bother me.

After reading a few posts about Shave Secret I decided to give it a try.  I honestly can't believe the difference.  I haven't had any red areas and there has been no discomfort at all.

I'm nearing the end of my first 30 days, so some of the improvement could simply be the fact that I'm getting better at shaving and my scalp is also getting used to the routine.

Regardless, it feels better to me.  Noticably fewer nicks and no redness, so I'm sticking with it. O0

Is it definitely one of the tops in my arsenal of shave creams/lubes, the only issue I've noticed is being an oil it is harder to rinse out from in between multiple blades. HOT water does help though. Otherwise this stuff is great!

wyzguy - I keep an old (but sterilized!) toothbrush handy to clean out between the blades when the hot water isn't clearing them out.  Works great.

I can remember once when I was just about to run out of my supply of Shave Secret, but the store only had the King of Shaves oil in stock. I bought the KoS oil and the next morning when I went to shave, i decided to mix a few drops of each and see what the creative result was going to be.

That's what I've been doing too, one more step, but works great!

Someone somewhere suggested adding a little detergent to the rinse water to help break up the oil. Not sure how that would work in practice. Might defeat the purpose of the oil whan blade was applied to scalp.

I have always been one to do things my own way, it is a strength and a flaw at the same time.

I find all of these "products" the same and use none except in the occasional experiment to see if the hype is true.  Gillette recently gave me some of their pre-shave gel. Not impressed.

For me it is a good sweat in the steam room, shave as is then finish with sweat and water in the shower. In a pinch when I can't steam I find very hot water does the trick. The key is a fresh blade and knowing your own head.

I know this site supports many products and respect that but I find most of it to be hype, smoke but no fire.
.....the quiet brightness of the city disconcerts. Somewhere malfeasance percolates. There is work to be done.
