Apparently Criss Angel almost gave up his magic act earlier this year.
He had perfected an illusion that involved placing a full-sized funeral coach in the middle of a circle of people, drawing up a curtain, and when the curtain dropped, there was a toy-sized version of the vehicle.
He took the illusion on tour all around North America and wowed the crowds every time. A full-sized coach was brought out. A curtain was drawn up and when it dropped, a tiny vehicle was all that remained.
He went to Europe and had the same results until he reached Poland. He planned to perform his trick in the nation's capitol city.
The people were gathered. The full-sized funeral coach was driven out. The people joined hands in a circle. The curtain was raised to hide the vehicle. Criss gave a mighty wave and the curtain dropped. But this time, instead of the smaller version, the full-sized funeral coach remained.
He tried again. Still the illusion would not work. This happened five more times. Each attempt ended with the full-sized funeral coach still sitting in the middle of the gathering, unchanged. Finally, the magician gave up.
Criss returned to Vegas uncertain of what the future might hold. During an interview, he was heard to say, "If nothing else, the whole experience has taught me a lesson."
"What is that?" the interviewer asked.
Criss replied, "Well, I've learned that you can take a hearse to Warsaw, but you can't make it shrink."
