Another Head Blade convert
« on: August 25, 2010, 01:37:19 PM »
As a complete head shaving newbie, I shaved twice with the Gillette Fusion following the advice I've read here in multiple posts from various people.  Today, at the suggestion of another contributor, I tried the Head Blade Sport for the first time. I used it straight from the package (triple blade) and absolutely loved it. It's really much easier than I imagined it would be.  I did end up with two very narrow strips that I missed on the back of my head, but those were quickly fixed.  What a great product this is.

I was a little concerned that it would be awkward and that I might even get a slice or two, so I watched a couple of YouTube tutorial videos as an example.  I followed their advice and had no issues.  I just concentrated on keeping the rear wheels on my scalp to prevent nicks and gouges and it worked.

And now for the best part....my head is smoother and slicker than I was able to get it with the Gillette Fusion.  From now on it's Fusion for the face and Head Blade for the head.

And for the purists, I'm sorry....I did use Edge gel instead of the Head Slick. I think I like the Edge better, but you never know...I might change my mind with more experience and go back to Head Slick.

Good to hear it's working for you. 8)
In the end it's just a question of trial and error until you find the best shaving equipment for your needs.

Phigg,

You're right.  Triple blades in the Sport.  I had to look closer. That probably helps explain the good results I ended up with.

Been a HeadBlade fan almost from the beginning. I've never had an 'accident' and have no problems shaving any part of my dome.

Waiting for my first shipment from HB HQ. Hard to find some of their stuff up here in Canada.
