Head Blade Question
« on: August 17, 2010, 11:44:19 AM »
I've been using a HeadBlade for over 10 years now. I one thing I have yet been able to do is get a good all over shave using just the HeadBlade. I always end up using a regular disposable to get the sides nice and smooth like I want it. I've tried about ever angle and technique I could think of but just can't get a real smooth shave on the sides. Anyone on here use just the HeadBlade and get a good smooth shave on the side? If so please let me know how you do it.

I get pretty sly on the sides with the Headblade/Gillette Comfort Plus 3 blades combo. What blades do you use on yours?

Shave in an upward direction but watch so that you do not cut your ears

You're not alone, Bearwolf.
I use my regular Schick Extreme 3 razor to get the sides of my head. Like Parksie, I shave in an upward direction on the sides of my head.
He's right, be careful of your ears....they bleed like a MoFo!

Interesting... I have no problem with a Headblade on the sides of my head, but *cannot* get smooth on the top of my head with it.  I pop the blade cartridge off and put it in a conventional handle, and it works fine.  Must be something related to skull shape!

The HeadBlade works for me everywhere except behind the ears.  I grab my MP5 for that.  O:O

I have never had a problem using the HeadBlade on sides and back. I go with the grain first, then against. Hair on the sides was trained to grow front to back with combing and brushing for many years so my grain goes front to back. I shave sides front to back rather than top to bottom. I find I get a slicker shave sides and back for longer than on the top.
