Hey Guys,
Glad to see there is a community out there such as this one. I shaved my head about 7 months ago and I honestly haven't looked back since.
I first found out I had thinning hair at about 24 years old. At the time I had really long hair and a "stylist" told me that I was thinning as she trimmed my hair. She recommended some B.S. "cleaning" solution which would reduce baldness. I thought she was just trying to sell me something dumb (which I was right about) and I ignored what she said. When I did cut my long hair at 25, I could definitely see that I in fact had male pattern baldness. It wasn't severe but it was noticable. The next week on the radio I heard about a free consultation regarding hair loss. I called the number and got an appointment. The woman who looked at my hair explained to me why men typically lose their hair. She then recommended laser treatment and transplants (of course, since they free hair loss consultation was run by a translplant clinic). I said I would think about it.
Intellectually I knew that confidence and success in life had nothing to do with hair or any other physical feature. I knew there were guys out there who were bald or whatever and had respect and a vibrant love life. Conversly, there were plenty of men who constantly made sure their hair was perfect and still couldn't land a date to save their life or gain respect from those around them. Even though I felt very much attached to my hair and felt that without it horrible things would happen, I decided to forgo any treatment including rogaine and the like. I figured I would shave my head when the time came.
When the time finally did come, I was a few years older and far more mature. I just got up one day and decided that enough was enough and I shaved my head. One of the best decisions of my life. I no longer worry about how my hair looks and whether anyone will notice that I am balding. Frankly, all the comments I have received have
been very positive. The strangest thing though is that most people didn't seem to care.
Anyway, that's a hell of a long introduction. See you out there!

Welcome aboard. Great post on your trip to Sly. Post up and help the other guys out there still dealing with the worry about the non-problem of MPB.

I had to quote this. Your intro will hopefully hit home with some of the lurkers and fencers' who visit the site.
You took the natural route, and that's the best way to go.
Enjoy the forum!
