I was watching
Locked Up Abroad last night; they showed the story of an American guy who was living in Trinidad, who allowed himself to be talked into smuggling cocaine from Ecuador to Spain for $15,000 because he needed the money for a baby that was on the way.
What was really strange about this story is, out of all the terrible experiences he had after he was caught and sentenced to nine years in a Spanish prison, the thing that upset him the most -- and actually brought tears to his eyes as he retold the story years after the fact-- was that the Ecuadorian drug dealers he was working with made him cut off his dreadlocks because they felt they made him stand out too much and more likely to be caught. He said he felt like he'd sold his soul when he agreed to get a haircut. Me, I'd have felt like I'd sold my soul by agreeing to smuggle drugs, but not for getting a haircut of any kind. Strange how important something as trivial as a hairstyle is to some people.

Your right Razor, we humans can get caught up on all kinds of trivial ...crap .
That show is awesome Razor. For some reason I always like shows like that and on MSNBC whenever they have specials about prison.
The best locked up abroad I remember is a guy, who was driving a motorcycle all the way from California to the tip of Chile, got kidnapped by FARC (Columbian rebel anti-gov group).

Yes, I remember that one.
He doesn't seem to be the sharpest knife in the drawer. And to cry over dreadlocks, that's just plain sick. I've never understood how they can keep them clean anyway, and in the heat of the Carribbean islands, they have to really fill up with sweat and then that begins to rot. No--if not for the drugs, he deserved jail for stupidity. Too bad they let him out to procreate.
