There is a lot of misunderstanding here about what I have said.

You'll find that happens here Timbo, as you can see opinions vary. A thread can veer off course very quickly. Do what feels right for you.

It's weird - there are lectures about how all mechanics are not bald and that I shoudn't assume they are.... ???
I would never think something so stupid and never said anything like it. One lecture starts another - and it isn't related to anything I said.  :o
Well, I guess that's the way a form works...

Really, just go with what you want to do, Timbo: it's obviously got everyone interested and fired up with all the 'advice' we're giving you: it's great what you are doing, and I for one am interested to see how the story ends! O0

I agree with Rob. ....just go with what you want to do. It sounds like you have been planning the career change for some time and have been thinking about the headshave for just as long. Just go ahead and do it.  it takes courage and a lot of confidence to do what you are about to take on.  There aren't that many people out there willing to take all of that on.  Good luck to you and let us know how it works out on Friday. You've come this far talking about it...now you just have to do it.

This.

Let's see a pic whenever you decide to shave it down!

I just have to chime on all these posts... he was supposed to shave Aug 6 and posted nearly every day for a while about every aspect of planning this...yet Aug 7 and nothing. I remain a bit sceptical about the entire story but didnt want to speak out about until now. The whole thing seemed odd in that at most any bank if they eliminate your job they escort you out that day rather than give you 2 weeks to run amok as it were. It is just too big a risk. It all sounds like a kind of fantasy perhaps...

Had the same thoughts but you give the benefit of a doubt.

He also seemed a bit ....thin skinned. "Oh my god there all picking on me!"

Which is typical of a forum troll.  They take umbrage at some real or perceived sleight and then make their exit before they have to report back about what they said they were going to do on a given date.

Another thing: do you think anybody quits their job for a total career change in anticipation of a layoff, instead of hanging around to collect the severance package and then making the switch?   @n(

Come on guys, have a little faith.  It's only been one day since his major life-altering decision of a drastic career change.  Maybe he just needs some time to get his affairs in order.
