Considering using Propecia..
« on: July 03, 2010, 05:10:03 PM »

I have recently taken my hair down to a no guard clipping and am slowly but surely coming to terms with the look, its quite a change from having a number 1 or 2.. but i am getting on with it.

I can't say im looking forward to going sly, but i would rather that than be a balding 22 year old.. who knows, i may even like it.

But i have always been curious about trying out propecia. I haven't got any bald areas as such, nor do i have a reciding hairline. What i do have is increasing thinness all over the top of my head which allows the skin to shine through under bright lighting and in general make me feel like sh*t.
I think having my hair as it is now keeps everything at one level, not 100% on that but i am definitely more comfortable this way. Anyway i have been thinking about using propecia to try and keep hold of what i have now.. at least that way i have the option of velcro/sly instead of just sly.
If anyone is still reading this self absorded crap at this point, can i ask what your opinion is on this??
Thanks in advance!

I think i know what the answer is.. in fact, it was a pretty stupid question to begin with.

Just go with sly. the reason I didn't do any hair loss treatments is none of the work well or permanently. Plus propecia has some horrifying side effects too.

Don't give in to the drug industry: Propecia now= Viagra later  :o :(

Just shave it; you will be soooo much happier!  Trust me  O0

Sly looks so much cleaner and is easier to maintain.  If you follow the 30 day rule, one of the benefits is that you will develop a routine that allows you to be more efficient in your slyness, especially since most shave daily.  8)

MPB is only a genetic trait--drugs will mess w/ your whole body, that isn't a fair trade.  Agreed, going bald is the sh_ts, but the guys here got ahead of it, stopped "going bald" and as bald guys put the hair thing behind us.  Try it for 30 days, what you have left, or most of it, will grow back, for a while.
The drugs, not unless you've carefully read the warnings on side effects and considered if you could live with them just to have some hair.

Like others have said, STAY AWAY FROM DRUGS! The side effects are not worth it.

Good move--the drugs could have limited your life in much more serious ways than thinning hair ever could.  It would have been a shame that your "pedestal" wouldn't support you anymore >:D
