Arnie's Insanity
« on: July 05, 2010, 11:17:06 PM »
Hey, I just ordered the Insanity DVDs about an hour ago and am pumped!!!

I would have never looked into them if it wasn't for Rob's success with PX90.

I chose Insanity for a bunch of reasons...mainly, I've tried 3 month long programs before and really start to get bored around the 2 month mark and hey, Insanity is 60 days!!!

The other, is I like the idea(for now) of not needing any equipment.  I can get huge into cardio on my own, but really need to be motivated at this point in my life...so your support is greatly appreciated.

I retired from the Navy on June 30th, and to be honest...I let myself go once I didn't have to weigh in anymore.  I got to the point where I was the biggest I've ever been.  Although with some diet and a little cardio I've started to shed some pounds, but need to do more...

So in 5-7 days for shipping, my Insanity program starts...will keep you posted!!!

Good luck Arnie, I'm 11 days into P90 This is where I needed to start, I've sat on the couch too long to jump into the X, after I get into the 90 for awhile, I'll try the 90x. Not really ready yet for the insanity even though it sounds good doing less time. Like I said, good luck, keep us posted.

How is it working out for you? Going Sly has given me a renewed interest in taking care of my health and losing some weight too. I like you have let myself go. I am at my heaviest @ 217 lbs  :(

Off to a good start, but I'm going to restart in a few days...you will sweat like crazy!!!

I injured myself(not during the workout) and had to put it down after the first week...

I was considering just doing 2 extra days for every day I missed, but think it is better I just start over when my back is better...

Restarted my work outs today...

Long story (between moving and a lost but now found DVD)...

Need to, I'm so out of shape compared to my Navy days and even in comparing to when I tried to stop this before.

Plan on doing this the next 60 days...then again or maybe P90X in preparation for my wedding in September.

Hi Arnie,

Sorry to hear about your back trouble.

Congrads on your retirment from the Navy. Thanks for your service.

I need to work on picking up a regular exercise routine myself. I took my son's big dog for a walk a couple of weeks ago and boy did I pay for it with a sore back for a week. Let mus know how your exercise program goes.

Good luck on your upcoming wedding in Septmember. I wish you both the best.

Take car.

Arnie,

I wish you the best with your PT regiment.  The key is finding what works and sticking with it.  I go to the gym @ 0430 for a reason!  BTW as a vollie firefighter/paramedic, I still get pleasure outperforming career firefighters half my age on the annual CPAT.  Granted, being a former CG Rescue Swimmer didn't hurt.

 Good luck.

Thanks for the support guys...I need it as I am very sore today, but have to push through this!!! W3!ght

My biggest problem is that although I'm looking for better foods to eat...I'm so much more hungry after beginning this regiment. (*!z@

You brought back some good Navy memories, when I took the PT seriously...especially in my early to mid-30s.  Lapping the new Sailors during our Physical Fitness Tests...

Day 5 complete...with a question...

Anyone have any suggestions for a work out floor I can put on my carpet?

I have a mat, but I need something more like a floor that fits my living room for some exercises...
