your MOST memorable day is
« on: June 21, 2010, 03:52:18 PM »
Hi slybaldguys,

Ok to some of us our most memorable day is the first day we looked in the mirror and
saw a good looking melon.   O0
But let's put that one aside because otherwise there is no point to this thread.

So I ask you, what would you consider your most memorable day(s) (other than your first day or year or month with a shaved head).

I will start, one of my most memorable days is February 10, 2004 when I came home from school and my father said there is an enveloppe waiting for you.  I opened it and it said congratulations on your acceptance to.........   I had received my acceptance into university.  As a child of 2 illiterate parents it meant a lot to me.

Your turn now.

The day I first saw the woman who is now my wife. I was at the christening of a mutual friend's child. When I saw her the moment froze in time for me. I can tell you in very vivid detail what she was wearing and how she had her hair fixed that day.
It would be a few months before the stars aligned and I could ask her out...... but on that first date I just knew that we would be together for a long time. She laughed like no woman I had ever known and had a positive energy that flowed from her.

We were finishing each other's sentences in days. Little did I know that less than a year later I would marry that amazing woman. Fifteen years later our marriage is better than ever and we have been blessed with two great children.

That was the day that changed my life forever.

I would have to agree with Koz.....when I met his wife.....no, wait a minute.  ;)

When I met the Lovely Mrs. Schro, I had a similar reaction. We had an instant connection, a surreal familiarity that cannot be explained. Sometimes you just know.   :@`

OK, back to your regularly scheduled programming.

The day I graduated Boot Camp, as well as the 3 months prior as well as the rest of my time in the Corps........

It's been almost ten years and those day(s) will forever be ingrained in me, especially the brotherhood I shared as well as never forgetting my fallen brothers.

For me there are 3 days -- when I held each of my three daughters in my hands for the first time.  Wives come and go - but daughters are forever.   I envy Mike and others who have incredible wives.   Tell you wives to send their friends my way!

.....eventually replaced by a more memorable day.
