device for head trimming
« on: June 13, 2010, 10:37:23 PM »
I like a very tight head trimming ... the shortest possible. At a salon, a stylist used the Wella Contura on me. I liked everything about it, and am considering purchasing one. Rechargeable batteries, quiet, small and flexible, and excellent cutting features.

More information here: http://www.wellaprofessionals.co.uk/hairdresser/products/appliances_furniture/appliances/small_appliances/contura_clipper_ii/index.php.

The trouble is the product is only available in the UK (or so it seems), and has a UK plug.

I am hoping forum members can mention trimmers that have comparable features to the Wella Contura with a US plug. I am not not price sensitive for high quality. Your input is greatly appreciated.

Hi. I use the Wahl Bald Fader. It is good, it's very short :)

Been using the Cleanhead for a month or so now -- works pretty good & quality is so so -- but it's also fairly low priced

you could just purchase an adapter for the plug

damn just saw the price for it on ebay...quite expensive.

i'm also looking for some clippers that cut down real close. i have some andis fade master clippers which definitely get close, but they can be awkward to use on the back of your head, and actually take a layer or two of skin off at times too. not so much that you'll bleed, but with aftershave, you'll definitely feel it.

i just bought some conair chopper clippers, since they show a bald dude on the box and claim they're perfect for ultra close bald and fade styling, however i didn't open them yet. i checked out some reviews online and apparently it leaves a long stubble. so i might just return them.

So, why trim if it's such a pain?  Are you trying to get the 3 day beard look on your head?  ???
I guess I'm just "lazy" and use the Fusion. 8)
