Cool Car
« on: June 04, 2010, 10:45:17 AM »
Does anyone know of a cool car for an 18 year old? I was thinking about something like a 2004 Pontiac Grand Prix GTP. You know of  any other cars, pry a $5,000cap and a lil sporty.

The reason people find it so hard to be happy is that they always see the Past better than it was,
the Present worse than it is & the future less resolved than it will be.

I'd check www.carmax.com to get ideas about different cars and price ranges.  Kelley Blue Book is your friend, too.  As far as what a cool car is, that's for you to decide!  O0

I just bought a 2003 Mustang. Got a great deal since it's got some miles on it.  Sweet car though!  :)

Hmmm...Didn't know the road warrior's "special"  brother had his own vehicle as well.

That's almost as bad as the "Dragon" vette I posted awhile back.

Please don't take offence but IMO a Grand Prix GTP is a long way from a sporty  car in terms of actual performance.

How about a used (15 year old or older) Volvo with a 4 cylinder engine, until after you reach, say 21 or so?  ???
I'm thinking about your safety.  :/O  Of course I shouldn't compare you to my youthful days, when I had a glove box stuffed with tickets (mostly a lot of warnings!).  :*)) :*))
What do you want in a car; 2-door, stick shift (you can drive a standard).  Are you partial to any particular brand?  Are you average height?  If you're much over 6 feet 2 inches, you may be uncomforable in many U.S. cars.
Do you want a tuner car, or one to put way too much money into that you'll never get out of it (like a Honda Civic)?  I've had both small and large, and (with the way I drive) prefer the larger (boat cars), like an Impala #**p  I like sleepers- fast but no bling or give away signs that it is fast, even though my current car is a small engine economical model.
So, whatcha want, dude?   ???  Check Consumer's Report on used cars, to see which used cars are overall better deals compared to others.
Oh, also, most all car markets are depressed, so you should get a LOT for your money!  SAWEET! O:O

If you don't have enough strange ideas, and that Impala wasn't enough, check out the pics at this guy's link.

Most if not all of the guns are working models; the owner is a bit...extreme!

Kenny, with all of this cool (weird) advise, have you gotten anything out of all this?
Between CARMAX and Consumers Reports on used cars (their annual book) you should be off to a good start. O0
If you end up with 3 or 4 choices and can't decide, we can start talking about quantifiable decision making matrixes or whatever.  :/O
In the end YOU have to like your ride! If it tickles your fancy (or whatever gets tickled) that's mostly what matters! 8)
