I went into my usual CVS this morning, and on the close out shelf way in the back of the store (Close to the T-Paper), there was a couple bottles of Head Slick Mentholated Shave Cream ($1.99) and a tube of the Bald Guyz Moisture Gel ($1.49). I bought all of them, thinking the price is probably good, as I have never used either of these two products before. Tonight, in the shower, after shaking the shave cream like I would my trusty ol' can of Barbasol, I squirted out some of the stuff, and I was really surprised that it didn't foam up like a good shave cream does. I rubbed it on my coconut, and with a new CVS knock off blade in the Headblade, it seemed to work ok, about as good as my Barbasol does. My question is, is it suppose to foam up, and should it be better that my usual stuff?
After I was done with the usual routine, I squeezed out a bit of the moisture gel stuff and rubbed it on my head. After a few minutes, it got quit sticky. So now my Q is , is it suppose to get sticky? I don't care to pick up all the lint and stuff with it being sticky.
Is this the way these two products are suppose to be, or am I doing something wrong?
(Ya think I was a newbee or something with those newbee questions)
hey cvasara: from my experience... the head slick is much better then the barbasol. it may not "foam" up as much but it gives a better, smoother shave. as far as the BG's moisture gel... i always "shake it up" real good & apply evenly on dome & face. it should not be "sticky". btw... $1.99 & $1.49 is an awesome deal.
WARHAWK
HeadSlick for $1.99?! >>
Want.
I started a thread about HeadSlick called... "HeadSlick" in the Head Shaving section of the forum that may answer some questions.
Bill, thanks for that thread, some good information there. Not sure I am going to try a brush, I don't want to live in the shower, where I do most of my shaving, but I'll change my approach with this stuff new shower. As far as the Moisturizing Gel goes, its in a squeeze tube, but maybe shaking it will make it "Not sticky"
I bought the last two of the Head Slick Mentholated shave cream that was on the close out shelf, so maybe a $1.99 price on them wasn't too bad. Guess we should check another CVS or two just to see if there is anymore. I didn't see any HeadBlade shavers, nor any of my beloved CVS brand Atra knockoffs, but thats the way it goes.
If you use too much Moisture gel it will not absorb as quickly and become messy. You need to use a little bit at a time.

Head slick and bald guyz moisture gel was only 2 bucks? you know that stuff is usually about 8 dollars right?
