Don't overshave a spot.  Don't pull your ears out to get that bit in the back that no one can see anyway.  Just let it be until next time.  I've done more damage trying to get a perfect smooth than I care to think about.

I keep an electric shaver on standby, because sometimes I miss just a little strip of hair just behind the ear, which is just long enough that I can feel it every time I rub my head, which drives me nuts.
