I don't understand why anyone would go to such extremes.  I can understand being upset about hair loss, especially when you're young, but you'd think that with age (and hopefully maturity) people would just learn to deal with it.  I'm about as vain as they come, and when I noticed my hairline was starting to recede when I was about 20, I wasn't happy at all.  But I never, ever considered doing anything like that.  Baldness is not a disfigurement; there are millions of bald men who live happy and productive lives.  It may not be something most people welcome, but it just isn't that big a deal.

I think the thing that always strikes me about the after photos is that people just look 'less balding'. There's still not a great deal of density, and the hairline is rather high. The long term prospects often aren't great, from what I can gather. I would have thought that people would spot the same thing when undertaking their research. I'm surprised people go down this route.

I feel really sorry for these people, mainly because it often doesn't have the intended result, still leaves them unfulfilled, if not feeling worse.

I have posted something similar before.  But during the early stages of losing my luscious locks like manay i trawled the web trying to think whether a transplant was the way to go etc etc.  Now I occasionally look back at those forums to try and suggest that there is an alternative.  I stumbled across this post this morning:

Take a look about the 3rd post down.  And that is being claimed a 'great result'.  What happens if this guy loses more hair?

No way, Argyle i just viewed your profile. You only live about 15 min's drive away from me lol.

one of my cousin's is going to the clinic in Minneapolis to have a consultation and to schedule another transplant. The clinic in Minnesota has promised him that he will have a full head of hair within a few months after he has his transplant with them.

My cosuin wears a hideous black toupee, since it is a sign and symbol of shame for him to be bald

That's disgusting. It bothered me just thinking about someone doing that to themselves. And I couldn't help but notice how much happier with ourselves we all seem to be then them. Good to be sly.

Whenever I am working in Manchester I go through Ashton.  You are right that is a stunning drive, a couple of lovely pubs up that way too!

If you notice about a HT most of the guys that have had it done are on their 4th ones.
The reason people find it so hard to be happy is that they always see the Past better than it was,
the Present worse than it is & the future less resolved than it will be.

You've said that right, I think the same. Bald is bald, when the contrast between hair and scalp is too high you just shave it. Else it is just ugly.
