Hi Everyone.  I'm a 20 year old student from Illinois.  I started noticing that my hairline was receeding right before I graduated from high school.  It slowly progressed and I'd say I'm in the later stages right now.  About a year and a half ago I started shaving my head.  I've gotten pretty used to it, but I recently noticed that I am entering the last stage of balding (the remaining hair on top of my head is starting to thin).  This was hard for me to take, so I've just been looking for people who understand what I'm going through.  Looks like I found it!

Whats up man.  I was in the same boat as you.  I'm 21 now and have been shaving for a little over a year.  It's awesome and it sounds like you've already figured this out just need to take the step.  I live and go to school in Chicago.  What part of Illinois are you from?

i turn 20 on june 7th, and I have a horrendously receded hairline and thin crown. I'm probably going to shave tomorrow so I understand what you're going through

I remember thinning at 20 or so as well...thinning bad.....now I'm pretty much Norwood VII....man it HAS been 22 years. 

After a botched flattop in 1989, I decided to shave my head smooth and loved it.....I grew a little goatee to go with it. It was cool, (in those days) very unique and bohemian, and fun. Then the neo-nazi a-holes started getting TV airplay and I got so much flack I grew it back, and kept a shortish buzz (and still got hassled)  .

Thankfully, times changed and (most) people got used to the look. I went Sly in 1998 and other than a couple of lazy few days, haven't looked back.

I agree with the 30 day rule....commit to it for a month.....and like someone said here "If you're old enough to grow good facial hair, you're old enough for Sly.
