Do you ever get asked why you shave your head?

Hey bald guys. I still have some more bald questions before ever deciding to shave my head.
Do you ever get asked, from people you already know or from people you just meet, why you shave your head? If it's because of hair loss, do you feel comfortable saying it? How often do you get asked?

I get asked only occasionally. And my answer is always a simple "Because I want to".
No one is "owed" more of an explanation than that (except for spousal units).

People never ask me why I shave my head. I would get the bald comments when I had hair, now that I'm sly no bald comments. Go figuire.

People don't ask me that question. In fact for the most part -- nobody says anything about my shaved head. Its such a mainstream look now that I don't think people question it. I'm sitting at an indoor jungle gym and play area for kids and its packed with people. Everywhere I look I see at least one shaved head. Three of the guys who work at this place have shaved heads. As my redneck friends would say -- It just ain't that u-neek anymore.

They only did at first, the first two or three months--except for the wife--and as Paul said, most really only remember me as a shaved head guy now. It really isn't the worry that I probably considered at the time--but you know, I really don't remember that, all I constantly have in my shaved smooth head is, "Why the F did I wait so long?" That's really all, promise.

Yes and it's an annoying question. Why do I wear black socks instead of white? Why do I have a goatee? Why do I wear this tshirt instead of that tshirt? I don't get asked those questions, but they'd be just as obnoxious because how do you explain your decision on an issue that's totally irrelevant? People want some profound logical answer when the reality is "I like it".
I usually only get that question from family or people who are used to seeing me with hair. It makes sense for people to wonder why you've gone from one hairstyle to another when those hairstyles are so at odds with each other, and I have to admit that I've done this myself. One of my best friends throughout college had long and perfectly straight black hair. It was his trademark. After college I found out that he cut most of it off and I couldn't imagine seeing him with short hair. Had I seen him, I would have demanded an answer within 1 minute on what he had done to his hair! Now on Facebook I see that he's got a mid-length style.

A few people asked me right after I shaved for the first time, but after that, not so much. Occasionally someone will ask how much hair I would have if I didn't shave.

I was asked once why I shaved, and like the others, I said, 'Because I want to'. I have mostly been asked how often I shave and if i use a razor.
To most people who know me its just not an issue any more.

I always get asked that question. Since I started my new job last September, I had to meet every client for our firm, and they alway ask, "you're bald too", Why? The guy before me was bald too.
