Hello everyone, from a canadian sly youngster
« on: April 25, 2010, 10:47:45 AM »
First : Hi to you all !
Second : my apologies for my english writing skills!  Since I'm french, I hope you guys will excuse me  ;)

I've been lurking around this blog for a while and I really like what everybody's doing here. My dad and all my uncles are bald and so I am at the age of 24. I started losing my hair about 2 years ago and got tired to try to hide it. So in past October, I shaved it for good. (Actually, I took tips from this site for my first shave...)

My self confidence level is kinda shaky since then, but hey, gotta go through life with what it gave you.

Hope to share my experience here with a bunch of great men !

Kick butts, shave heads
Joe

My self confidence level is kinda shaky since then, but hey, gotta go through life with what it gave you.

No need for you to lack confidence; you look great.  It takes time to get used to a new look, and it's normal to have times when you miss your hair.  You'll miss it less as time goes by.  Eventually you get to the point where you couldn't imagine having hair.

In the meantime, while you're waiting for your confidence to improve, fake it.  A shaved head projects confidence; not everyone has the guts to take the blade to their scalp.  You did have the guts to do it and you should be proud of that.  You're not hiding under a hat or wig, or getting snake oil treatments in a desperate attempt to hang onto your thinning mane.  Project confidence to the world, and soon you'll begin to feel it.

Welcome Joe!  I was about your age when I noticed that I needed to let go of what hair I had left. m  It took me a couple of years to get the gut to do it.  So your ahead of the game.   You'll be fine.

Merci ! I just did not had the guts to get a comb-over ! It looks so (and I mean no disrespect to anybody) a-bad-word-finishing-with-ing (are we allowed to say that?) ridiculous when you're 24 ! Plus, it takes forever every morning to comb it good...

Hope it won't take me 2 years to like the bald version though.
