Greetings!
« on: April 20, 2010, 08:20:54 PM »
Hey everyone,

I'm Bill and I'm 24.  So genes kicked my ass in the hair department like many of you guys  ::)  so I decided to do something about it.

I've been a lurker on this forum since a couple weeks before I shaved my head (August '09).  I have to say the network you guys have is pretty special.  There are few forums I've seen on the net with such a kind community.  Anyhow, this site was definitely a catalyst for my first headshave.  My hair had been thinning and receding pretty rapidly over the past couple years and it was pretty distressing. There really weren't too many decisions to make because I certainly wasn't going the rugs, plugs, or drugs route, though the thoughts had crossed my mind.  I decided to get it buzzed off during mid-summer and it looked kind of ridiculous.  I looked at least a decade older so I decided to go for it and shave it off about a week later.  I've been bald for 9 months and can't really imagine going back!  It feels wonderful to the touch and to my clean-freak sensibilities.  I think it looks pretty damn good, too.  It goes with my rock musician/poker player persona, as well, haha.

I shave every 2 or 3 days and have a pretty good system so far:  Shower>Shave Secret>Edge Infused Gel>wait a couple minutes for hair to soften>Headblade with the grain>Fusion against grain>Cold water rinse.  There's nothing quite like those moments after a good shave.  8)

ATTN:  All you young guys who fret over your thinning or receding hair, just do yourself a favor and shave it off.  It's not the end of the world, I promise.  It's SO much better not constantly worrying about it and it feels and looks great.  Not to mention all the headrubs and positive attention you'll receive.

I'll try to get a pic up soon.

Peace

Welcome
Life has three aspects: Paradox, Humor, and Change.

Paradox: Life is a mystery; don't waste time figuring it out.
Humor: Keep a sense of humor, especially about yourself. It is a strength beyond all measure
Change: Know that nothing stays the same.
