Ever consider a book?
« on: April 19, 2010, 05:51:01 PM »
Just another one of my derpy thoughts out of nowhere.

But I've seen lots of great stories, regarding the transition to sly and reactions to being bald and stuff. I just thought it would be a neat idea to compile all these stories into a book it could be sort of a confidence building book for young gents losing their hair.

Anyhow just a thought, what do you guys think?

also if someone has done this already I apologize for my tremendously stupid post

Even if someone has thought of this before, how would that make it stupid?

I think it's a splendid idea, and a quick search on Amazon didn't turn up anything.

Even though I'm an author, this would be a bit out of my league (I write computer books), but for someone who is good at interviewing folks and compiling stories, it'd be a great project.

I nominate Tyler !
"Far better it is to dare mighty things, to win glorious triumphs, even though checkered by failure, than to take rank with those who neither enjoy much nor suffer much, because they live in the gray twilight that knows not victory nor defeat." - Theodore Roosevelt

Sounds like a good idea with a potentially large market.    As an author myself its a great experience.

(I write computer books)

Bootedbear is being modest. It's little known in these circles, but he's also published award-winning poetry about misunderstood teenage vampires.

Hey bootedbear -- I just finished the final round of edits on Beginning Drupal 7 for Apress Publishing.   Drupal is a web content management system.    So like you -- in the IT arena.    My second book is underway -- Pro Drupal Development 3rd Edition, also published by Apress.

Very cool, Todd! Is that your first book?

(Does it not seem that the "final round of edits" never seems to end?)

Here's the Bear Bookshelf

I'm currently putting the wraps on the 2nd edition of jQuery in Action which will be book #4.
