I have replaced shoes with flip flops...can you say freedom?
People are not limited by the circumstance that they are born in. They are limited by the size of their dreams. Show them that their dreams can have no limits and in turn their accomplishments can be limitless.

The various migratory birds returning including two huge "V's" of noisy sandhill cranes flying over the house.
Spring bulbs poppng up all over.
Going to be in the 70's for us on the Illinois/Wisconsin border by midweek.

In the northeast we're being deluged by a nor'easter again. After this storm we expect some nice weather.... I HOPE!

It's raining like the banshees here in Jersey. In fact I'm feeling more than a bit waterlogged. This month alone we've had over 10" of rain. At least my lawn will be emerald green when Spring actually decides to stay. I'll stop complaining for now. By Friday the sun should be out and temps are expected to be in the mid 70's.

I thought those birds were native to the extreme southeast part of the US or at least warm climates.  I just checked online and found that their range extends from Cuba to Northeast Siberia!  These things are huge, and in Florida they seem to have little fear of humans.  They seem to be social and territorial because you'll see a pair hanging out in the same area for years.

Someone told me about the time he was in his glass-doored office when one came up and saw its reflection in the glass and started attacking it with its feet.  He was positive it was going to break the glass because it was hitting that hard.  It didn't.
You don't know me, but I know you.

Another sign of spring is that a cardinal will start hanging out and fluttering into the side windows of cars parked on the far corner of my gym's parking lot.

A decade ago I worked at a place where for a month in the spring a robin would spend all morning trying to fly into the office through one specific exterior door.  It did that for a couple years.

Ditto along with Shadowside.

The "live music capital of the world" Austin, TX is also called the "allergy capital of the world."

I've lived in many other states and areas and never was allergic to anything, but that cedar pollen here just makes my head feel like it's gonna explode!

But it's been warm awhile, I went on a float trip down the Guadalupe river last week.

We didnt have a winter here in our area. We got snow 3 times and it all melted pretty quick. Its gonna be a dry summer though, barely any snow pack in the mountains. There was a tinge of jelousy hearing about all the snow they got on the east coast.
