Prayers for my Friend...
«

My Friend's name is Rick Porter. Rick and I have been friends for almost 25 years. He was my Best Man and I was his.
Yesterday morning Rick's brother Ray was at work at the gas station he owns. A guy walked in to rob the place and shot Ray twice in the head.
I just spoke to Rick...... his brother Ray is brain dead. The Family was getting ready to go see him for the last time before the doctors took him to harvest his organs. Ray was only 49 years old with a wife and two kids. Ray was a good, hard working guy and Family man.
This Family has already had a lot of tragedy over the last ten years or so.
I humbly ask that you keep Rick and the entire Porter Family in your Prayers in the coming days.

We will keep them in our hearts and thoughts. What a wonderful powerful thing that they are going to provide the opportunity of life to others from their tragedy. I'm glad I have the "heart" on my driver's license--it's things like this that should remind us all to be generous and insure that if our time is done, we can still help our neighbors and those in need.

Thanks so much guys. Ray passed at about the time I posted this earlier today. I knew Ray and his Family pretty well.
I found out all the details this AM while at work so this has been a difficult day for me. When I finally got home around 7:45 this evening my Son came to me and said he was sorry about Uncle Rick's brother. I immediately broke down and my 13 year old son just held me and offered comfort.
Ray's wife was working when this happened and she saw the guy shoot him. May God eventually give her the strength and peace to deal with this whole nightmare.
I love Rick Porter like a Brother and I can't even imagine the pain in his Heart.
Please keep Praying for this Family......

Prayers have been sent. What a tragedy.
Mike, I have a good friend named Rick Porter too and he was my Best Man. It is good that we can be there for our friends.
