Well..... I'm in full motorcycle withdrawal with all the snow on the ground and the temps in the 20's here!
But.... later this week I'm going to be purchasing some new items for my Road King. I'm going to order new slip-on mufflers, new grips, a new full face helmet (I'm a helmet junkie), and a new shift linkage.
I'm open to suggestions on the grips but I'm leaning toward the ISO-Grips.
Come on Spring!!!

Good for you, Mike!!
Some think Harleys and full-coverage helmets (or any helmet at all) is a mis-match.

Buying new stuff for the bikes is always fun. Today it was 11 degrees. But Sat it was 50, my friends went out to the motocross track. I was not able to join them because I have been sick. At least I was able to ride my brothers Rune in Vegas a few weeks ago so I am not completly jonesin' but I would have liked to go out to the track on Sat.
Is your linkage broken or this for looks?

Well, as you know Mike, I can't really give you any advice with regard to your dilemma as my 2009 V Star 950 Tourer will be delivered tomorrow. Yea!!!!
As well, it was 70 degrees here in the Valley and a bunch of bikes were out on the road today...
I did just purchase an AFX FX-43 open face helmet this past week and am very pleased with it.

My linkage is NOT broken but as you may know it CAN be a weak link. So I'm replacing it for both function and looks.

Congrats on the new ride Todd! Let me know how you like it.... but as we talked about last week.... the V-Stars are great bikes.
Let me know how you like that AFX helmet once yhou ride with it a bit. They have some cool graphics on some of their full face helmets but I don't know much about the brand.

Only full face helmets for me Rob. That's what I bought when I purchased my first street bike in 1982. Last Summer I tried on a couple of half shells, open face, and even 3/4 helmets..... no comfort level at all for me with any of these. I currently have a Fulmer Modus modular and like it a lot but it's a bit loud.
This is the one I'm pretty sure I'm going to buy:

I have the same withdrawal feels Mike. I just go stand in the garage and stare at the Softtail and sigh. But the local Harley dealer is having a party on the 28th and sent a 25 dollar coupon so I may be out looking for a few new items myself.

Although an older topic I'm dredging it back up. I too had the dulldrums the other day and went out and uncovered the ricer, started her up and sat an looked at it for a while. I'm wanting to change the paint on it but I'm not sure what to do yet. Going to box it up in the snowmobile trailer and haul it to a friend of a friend who does some really great air brush work and see what he thinks.
That at least got me thinking spring time. I didn't bother to start the 440 Plymouth, that is fun but after it truely sinks in that it can't leave the garage cabin fever sets in even worse! Better to not ring those pipes for a 'nother couple weeks.

I put the new mufflers on this past Saturday (Klock Werks Super Saver -Slash cut up). They sound great and are beautiful.
I decided on Avon Air Gripsand put them on last Saturday also ..... they look great.
http://avongrips.com/shop/products/Air-Cushioned-Chrome-Grips.htmlMy new helmet arrives tomorrow.
It's going to be 60 degrees here today so I'm knocking off from work early and going riding. I need a bit of riding therapy after the last week.

I was thinking of you guys today on the way home. Lots of bikes out in the city of Erie. I was envious as I drove my delapidated Mercury through the streets.

I had a great ride with the wife yesterday. It was perfect riding weather for this time of year. No heavy gear to stay warm.... just my leather with the liner, some mid weight gloves, and of course my helmet.
