The movie "Avatar"............
« on: February 14, 2010, 05:00:45 PM »
The Family and I went and saw "Avatar" yesterday. The Mrs. was not too anxious to see it and I was little luke warm from what I had read about it.

But boy were we surprised!! It was a unanimous four "thumbs up" from the Koz Family! I loved this movie! It was classic good vs. bad but I loved the story. The movie was in 3D and was visually stunning and just beautiful to watch.

The movie is 2 hours, 40 minutes long but that was a short 2hr 40 min!!!

Didn't want to see it, I hate the theatres. But, I must say seeing it in 3D at the IMAX was pretty satisfying.

I think I ran over a half a dozen people getting to the washroom after...  O0

I'm not a big fan of theaters either but some movies MUST be seen in the theater (even though I have a 57 inch big screen). This is one of them.... but I will be purchasing it once it hits the stores.

I also saw it in 3D, and it was a major waste of money :Xo!. It definitely wasn't anything special.

This is one that should be seen in theaters, in 3-D. It add so much to the experience. It was a GREAT movie!   O0  O0  O0 O0
Life has three aspects: Paradox, Humor, and Change.

Paradox: Life is a mystery; don't waste time figuring it out.
Humor: Keep a sense of humor, especially about yourself. It is a strength beyond all measure
Change: Know that nothing stays the same.

Shame on you.  :)

Avatar was a great movie. I do get tired of the constant  liberal we are killing the planet, corps are evil themes But still it was well done and entertaining, a cowboy and indians movie where the indians win.

My favorite quote. "They killed their mother"

It was a great movie..Lots of people I know thought the story was weak...which, maybe it was. But it was entertaining and everyone I know who has seen it have all mentioned the same thing: You come to a point where you "forget" you aren't on Pandora yourself.

I saw it twice...Tried to see it a third time yesterday, as i'd like to see it in IMAX, but I arrived an hour early and it was already sold out...weeks and weeks after opening!

I know, I know.  My wife makes fun of me all the time about that.  I just get tired of sitting and get up and wait in the lobby or whatever. About 30 to 45 minutes is all I can take.  I just lose interest.  LOL
What can I say, I get in a dark room in a comfortable chair and it's nite, nite Stephen!

We can only hope.

I liked his other movies.
Aliens
Abyss
Titanic
But he did not personnaly create follow ups to those.

Though he did do the second Terminator so there is hope.

I saw this movie on Saturday night in 3D. It completely surpassed any expectations I had about this movie. I was totally blown away by the detail and concepts, it was visually awesome to me. I had heard the story was weak, but I did not find this, if anything the underlying messages were very clear. I loved the idea of riding a flying dragon and using your pony tail as an interface to the dragon's mind, perhaps us bald guys may be at a disadvantage when it comes to dragon flying.
An awesome movie !
