The only good part is he died quickly and doing what he loved!
Very sad!!! I hope they beef up the safety at that track.
my prayers go out 2 him & his family.
WARHAWK
I'm sorry and I know hindsight is 20/20...but even to the untrained eye, that turn looked like a safety hazard...
Prayers for his family, friends, team, and competitors...
I already have great respect for these athletes, but can only imagine the heavy hearts in the luge competition now...
The real tragedy is that in less than 24 hours they were able to make that turn a lot safer. Why didn't they do it in the first place?
My prayers go out to his family and friends and to the other athletes. May their runs be fast but safe!!
That was brutal. prayers to his family, friends and fellow cometitors. What did they do to lessen the danger? I heard they might shorten the track prior to that turn to keep speed down but I never heard what they did.
Wow, unbelievable.

Yeah, they shortened the track, padded the metal posts, and put up a wall where he crashed...they are still finishing the track around 90mph.
OMG! Thank goodness he died nearly instantly.

I happen to be watching this live with my son on Friday night. I really didn't know what to tell him when it happened.

My son is still talking about it. I'm doing the best that I can to explain it to a 10 year old.
