Always for homemade Chili...

Can't go wrong with Tomato Soup and Grilled Cheese...

Most of the soups I generally make myself end up an awful lot alike--there are always lentils or split peas involved.

But I do make a version of Olive Garden's "Zuppa Toscana" which is really excellent.  I sometimes throttle back on the whipping cream, however, and use milk.  Here's one copycat recipe.  I don't use Italian sausage, but breakfast sausage, Jones' Farm or Park's, cooked and crumbled, and I use the kale, not the chard.  In fact, I think I'll make some today.  Gotta make a kale run, however.

My wife makes a Potato Cheese soup that is to die for.  Even better left over.  I've even been know to use it cold as a dip.  mmmm my mouth's watering just thinking about it.

When we are at the coast I have to find some Fresh Clam Chowder in a bread bowl....delicious!

A few years ago I went to a Vietnamese restaurant and had a big bowl of soup.  A couple spoonfuls in to the soup I saw a small cockroach floating in it.  I called the waiter over, showed him the bug and expressed my outrage.  He promptly ran to the kitchen, returning with a spoon and scooped out the roach.  He smiled and said, "okay now Joe?"   :o

Needless to say, I'll stick to chowder!  :*))
