Why Do They Do It?
« on: February 03, 2010, 04:40:04 PM »
Here we speak the mantra of "No Rugs, No Plugs, No Drugs."

Today, at a faculty meeting, I noted on an adjunct (horseshoe head; goatee) a sprinkling of sprouts on the rear of the bare dome, feeble little sprigs, and said to myself, "That person is getting transplants."  A casual look at the chap's back-head clearly showed the source of the hopeful hair.  I also said to myself, "What WAS he thinking of?  It's not going to a damned thing good for him."

But I would never say anything aloud of this sort to anyone who is putting hope over experience.  I hope that the Sly here would never confront anyone with plugs, but I'm sure we all roll our eyes when out of sight of the ... deluded fools, I guess I'd have to say.

They probably say the same thing about us....

Though I will say (as I'm certain most others here will agree), trying to hold onto something by such a drastic measure is not for us. Plus, to have to pay $300 + a month in "maintenance fees" for a rug is insane.

SLY FOR LIFE.

Agonizing over what cannot be is an insult to what is.
