I am an everyday shaver. I have missed only one day of head shaving since I went sly 2.5 years ago. This past weekend we had a huge ice storm in Oklahoma. My work was cancelled on Friday. I did not shave on Friday or Saturday i.e. I went from Thursday morning to Sunday morning without shaving.
HUGE MISTAKE! Even though I used a brand new blade, hot water, etc., I had the worst case of razor bumps you have ever seen. It looked like I had been caught in a hail storm the welps were so bad on the back of my head. Took all day for them to go down.
Lesson learned - never will I miss a day of shaving ever again.

Steve - - - -I did the same thing a couple of weeks ago - - -and I will never skip a day again - -Mine started with a slight "horse-shoe" and that was enough for me - - We are ment to shave every day for a good bald look - - - -and a smooth dome -
You have had some rough weather in Oklahoma - -this winter - - -

I remember the big blizzard in OK about two years ago SSteve. It knocked out power in some parts of the metro for 8 DAYS!!
And it just so happened to be finals week. I studied criminal procedure and Evidence law by candlelight, what a nightmare.
OKC always gets that nasty mix of freezing rain, sleet and ice that takes down the trees and power lines.
Lesson learned on skipping a day, if I skip a day or two I'm just sure to let my head soak in the hot shower awhile and exfoliate to soften up those bristles.

Hey Dome of Steel. Studying evidence and criminal law is another thing I would not want to do again. Don't miss those law school study days.

Wow, I'm the opposite. If I shave every day, I get razor bumps. I have to wait until the hair starts popping through everywhere. The most frequent I can shave without razor burn is every three days.

I know what you're talking about steve. I have gone without shaving several times, and the same thing happens. The irritation is so bad that it prevents me from shaving the next day. I learned a valuable lesson.

I have had this happen myself. I can go a day but if it goes past 2 days I have to break out the electric shaver. I have no choice for my sensitive head feels like the skin is being ripped of my scalp even with a new blade.
So I shave mostly everyday. but if not out comes the electric shaver. I can either wait till the next day for the blade or just go over my head with the blade after the electric shaver works it down to a bladable length.

Hey Steve,
I'm on the opposite side of the spectrum. I only do it once a week becuase to me it defeats the whole purpose of simplifying my life (which is one of the main reasons why I love the whole head shaving thing).
Also, when I did try and do it more often then that, I got too irriated and just decided to stick with the once a week ritual. Also, I know I'm in the minority here, but I like the look with a shadow. I'm not into the shiney look, so it works out for my taste.

Stemiker , I side with you I look to simplify my life and less often works for me. But to each his own.

I've hardly ever missed a day, but when I do, the bumps do tend to make an appearance. So I just gotta shave every day for comfort! (well, that's my excuse and I'm stickin to it!

Every now and then I skip about three days. Just enough to get some fuzz going. When I shave on that forth day it is the smoothest shave ever and it stays slick longer ..

I'm with Mazzle on this one. I have to wait every other day or every third day to shave else I'll get the razor burn.
