Will go SLY TOMORROW (need some advice)
« on: January 02, 2010, 07:54:16 AM »
Tomorrow I will pick up the HEAD BLADE; therefore, I wanted some help.

For the first time, do I put some cream on? Do I also put some SHINNY CREAM ON AFTER (if yes, what type of SHINNY cream do I buy)???

When should I RESHAVE after my first time also?
Do you recommend to shave the beard also ?!

If it is cold can I wear a hat ?!

Any advice will do !!!!

ty!

Welcome Ty. You will get plenty of different answers. The big thing for me was go slow with the headblade and do not push down. No pressure, just let it roll. I use headslick sometimes and Edge gel sometimes to shave with.
Nivea extreme shave balm will really help with bums and roughness after your first few shaves.
I have been shaving every day, but it's up to you on how your head  feels. I like mine really smooth.
Let us know how it goes.

Research this forum and you will find plenty of answers for you.

If you are getting a HeadBlade, you can get the HeadSlick.  You can get the Matte Head Lube as well, if you don't like shiny.

That's how I started...now I pretty much go with the HeadSlick and when I'm done get awesome results with Tolsum aftershave splash...

It really depends on your hair after that, mine is so thin I can get away with shaving it every 2-3 days and my blades go a long way...but if you want to keep it smooth all the time, shaving it every day is the way!!!

Basically it's the same as shaving your face.
A shaving gel is a must as well as an after shave balm afterwards. The HeadBlade products work for many people but you can start with what you have available. Because everyone's skin is different, you may have to try out several products to find the perfect ones.

For the first few shavings it is advisable to shave with the grain. Also don't try to get the ultimate smooth feeling by shaving the same spots multiple times because that causes irritation and razor bumps.

Follow the directions for the HeadBlade, mainly don't put pressure on it to avoid nicks.

You will notice a strange numb feeling after the first few shaves, that is normal.

You must not be in a hurry, it will take some time. It might be a good choice to shave in the evening initially.

Good luck!

I don't know if this is exactly what you're asking but I would not put the cream on before the shave. I would put it on afterward.

Not necessary to shave the beard, we have a couple of guys in the forum who have full beards and slick domes and I think it is a cool look.

You can absolutely wear a hat, find something that will allow part of the sly to show.....like a skully.

I have found the Gold Bond Ultimate restoring cream with CoQ10 to be a really nice cream to apply after a shave. I really helps heal most of the irritation that I encounter in very short order and leaves me with a mild shine. I also have a homemade mixture of witch hazel, aloe vera, and tea tree oil that I use immediately after shaving. After that dries I use the Gold Bond.

As far as a re-shave.....when you feel like you need it.
