William, how long have you been shaving?
I think a quick answer to your question is that it's all in your attitude. You may think you look like a bad boy, but you can prove people wrong with your attitude. Plus, I don't think every guy looks like a bad boy if he shaves his head. Your clothing will also help with your image.
In regards to the women, they are attracted to confidence. The more confident you are, the more women you'll attract.

Tyler asks an important question, How long have you been shaving? I believe it's almost a universal reaction immediately after shaving, "Who's the dude in the mirror?" It passes. Remember on people's reaction, all the new people you meet, and at your age that's probably a huge number, will never know you with receding hair so they won't say anything except maybe, "Isn't it cold without hair?" You may get one or two who will ask if you have some disease--rare and annoying. The biggest negative some get is from family although many guys relate a totally positive reaction.
You have changed your appearance, you have to remember that had you not done so the male pattern baldness would have ultimately left you with a really bad Bozo ring or worse, the combover. So you have done the only safe and sane thing, shave. Plugs, rugs and drugs are expensive, and in the case of plugs and drugs--of questionable medical ethics.
Bad boy--no way--sly dresses out nicely I assure you. Now if you aren't neat and clean you may look bad boy, but w/ receding hair that results in looking sloppy. No, this is a wrong perception and you will get over it.

First of all, you've had a problem and you solved it, that's great!
But the change in your appearance is dramatic, at least for yourself. You have to get used to it.
As the experience of many SBG members shows, for the rest of the world that change is not so big.
People that liked you will still like you.
Perhaps you can try to imagine a friend of yours would shave his head from one day to another. What would you think? Would that change a thing?
And look in the streets, there are many other bald men out there. Do they look like bad boys? And if so, is it because of their baldness? I don't think so.

Welcome aboard thebaboun!
I think it's really all in your focus. If you think you're a victim of something bad, you'll never be happy.
Read through some of the post here and see how many men, some who still have hair, actually consider being bald the best thing that's ever happened to them!

How you feel about yourself and view yourself will influence your attitude and self confidence and will influence how others feel about you. Embrace your baldness as a gift, look at all the positives (and there are many) and give yourself some time to adjust to the change.
My guess is, if you do that, in a month or so you'll be amazed at how positive you feel about your new look.

Glad you found us William. Listen to the guys on the forum, they are alsolutely correct. We are our own worse cristics. Remember the teen years? Get a zit right before a date and you though it was the size of a mountain, not so. Same with baldness. Those that know and love you will continue to do so. We are who we are. Hair is just an accessory. Stand tall and be proud of who you are. And besides, you have never had your bald head rubbed by a woman--Oh God!!!

You know, I am getting all those ideas that girl will not be attracted to me because I am bald a part from the fat ones that are not good looking.
A great man by the name of Bill Cosby made a statement regarding women on an album he released back in the 60s. A number of times in my adult life I have recalled these words and they have saved me from a night of frustration. The saying goes:
"Do not disrespect the ugly one."
I think that one could, depending on the current population where one happens to be standing, substitute the word fat.....or add it. Mr. Cosby recounts occasions while partying with friends who were inspecting the crowd for America's Next Top Model (my words, not his) and who spent the entire night being rebuffed. Mr. Cosby, on the other hand reported a much greater degree of success.
That's why God invented fake names.

I agree with the guys on here, Have confidence in yourself! when I first started shaving my head many years ago I was so worried about what other people would think that I really held myself back (kind of locked myself away from the rest of the world for a while) but let me tell you, I have been shaving my head on a regular basis now for almost 10 years and I have to tell you that you will love it.
Trust in what you are doing! If you have confidence in yourself, everyone else will as well

Welcome. I think you have answered your own question. Since you say that being sly suits you, that is all that matters. Take the attitude and do as the others have said....be confident that you look good. You are going to find that many woman are attracted to sly guys. Go out there and go for it.

Hi William
Welcome Aboard The SLY Train and you are most definitely in GOOD HANDS
Okay, a young man balding...it's not a disease but I understand it's is not easy on your confidence...Been there-done that
What not to do? transplants, lotions, hair pieces...much too expensive and in the long run, THEY DO NOT WORK and YOU LOSE YOUR FREEDOM
Your hair is a small part of you are and you need to understand that but it takes time and you have that
So, look in the mirror and start building some confidence
The SLY FAMILY is here for you
