I have one and while it might not get as close as a lather and blade shave it
does seem to do a good job.
it is nice for when in a hurry and also for quick touch up

The only update I have is that Santa did not leave me one...... because neither my wife nor I could find it anywhere. I'm still in search mode..........

I got one on my birthday a week ago and let me tell ya.  It does a great job.  I can get pretty much as close as a blade, BUT it does not stay smooth as long.  I seem to need a touchup everyday as were if i shave with the fusion power i can go every other day.  I hope this helps.

This looks like the Panasonic Wet/Dry electric except that it has two blades working simultaneously instead of one.  I used that device for a few months 5 years ago and eventually went back to the blade.  I got a much better and quicker shave out of the blade and I think it took my skin a while to adapt to that electric.

I don't see how electric blade technology could advance enough in those years to make it similar to a blade, so I think the main reason to get one of these would be for other reasons like being able to use it as a "back up" blade when you just don't have time to deal with the mess of lather and water.  It would probably work great for someone who'd want to shave in the car on the way to and/or from work (though it may get in the way of the driver's ability to text their BFF or interfere with their enjoyment of a DVD).  It may also help you avoid the limitations on liquids when traveling by plane with shaving gel.
You don't know me, but I know you.

I'm considering trying some sort of an electric razor as a Plan B in case I start developing skin issues again.  I don't think I'd use it on my entire head, but it might be sufficient for cleaning up what little remains on top.
