Hello from Manchester, England
« on: December 05, 2009, 04:30:55 AM »
Hi everyone - i'm new here although have lurked previously.

Bit about me - i'm 35 years young and have been shaving my head since i spent some time in France and couldn't get a decent haircut so went out and bought some clippers to do the job myself... and never looked back!

Have been shaving my head religiously every week ever since -mostly without the attachments.

Anyway, as luck would have it my hair began to thin around 5 years ago so balding hasn't really been an issue for me :)

I look forward to probably reading more than posting but i'll try and chip in when i have something worth saying!

Oh yeah - that reminds me .. i refound this site as i'm looking for recommendations as it's just turned cold here so the central heating has clicked on - this has lead to me having a dry scalp after showering and shampooing my scalp every day - i use moisturiser but would i be better off with a dehumidifier or something as a preventative measure??

Anyone else have a similar problem?

Nice to meet you

Bonehead74!

Welcome on board mate ... the humidifier works.  Also, instead of shampoo I am using a very mild alcohol free facial cleanser on my scalp.

I agree, skip the shampoo and wash your head the same as you'd wash your face, with a good non-drying cleanser.  I also use the same moisturisers on my freshly shaved dome as I use on my face.

Welcome to the group BH. I'm sure you meant a humidifier not a dehumidifier. A humidifier would probably help a lot. So how is Man U doing these days.?

Cheers for the welcome - and great beard Coltsfan! :)

MikeKoz - who's Man U? There's only one team in Manchester and that's Man City (Man Un#ted are based just outside of Manchester and as you may have guessed, i support Man City)

Thansk also for the recommendations... i'm still looking in to a humidifier (not a dehumidifier, good point!)

I've never tried using just soap but i also get dry skin on my face from time to time but i'll give it a go!

Laters!
