do hair growth inhibitors work?

   hi guys,
 firstly i go bald by choice, but i find the shaved look very time consuming as when bald  i like it shiny & smooth.  do any of the high street stores hair removers, hair inhibitors work? if i could get one that worked for about a week at a time then  i`m with you guys.  sorry if this topic is answered elsewhere.

Nair, so I've read, makes one for men but it is for areas other than the head. I've read, also, that it causes major skin issues above the neck so I'd pass on that.
The only other hair remover that has a 100% success rate is the world renowned
HEAD BLADE!

Dude, as far as the amount of time invested in attaining that sly look and feel, did George Washington, the father of our country and the man who could not tell a lie, decide not to cross the Delaware because of the time it would take to row across. Stay away from those products Dude.... acouple guys have tried them with vey bad results.......

I've thought about trying NAIR FOR MEN on my head, right above and around the ears and in the back where it seems I have a heck of a time with stubble.  I even posted the NAIR  on the head question on another forum, with very little reply or even any interest.  That reply was only that that person had never tried it.   So to date, I haven't done it.  Still, just a small area for a test?

I did quite a bit of research before I started shaving and I don't think I ever saw anything positive about the "magic" hair removers.  It causes a major rash on a lot of people.  I just don't think I want to use a chemical that kills the root of the hair that close to my brain.

The instructions will often say not for the head, etc., but they can cause major pain.  Inhibitors, I don't know about that's the post shaving thing that's supposed to slow hair growth. 
Find a blade system, whether HB, Fusion, or a current favorite among many the Personna M5, that works for you.  I've tried at least 5 (anyone want some lightly used razors?) and currently use the M5 with excellent results. 
Applying oil and spraying rubbing alcohol as part of the preparation also works for me--the alcohol spray is courtesy of Warhawk-a really great find.  It also has the effect of disinfecting the area, less bacteria, less inflamation--simple stuff really. 
My friend RazorX can relate his experience with the hair removers, not a pretty tale.

Like a fool, I tried one the other day. It said it was safe to use on the head.   The instructions said to test a patch about the size of a quarter.  Does acid burn mean anything to you?  It said to leave it on for six to nine minutes.  Personally I don't think That can be done. After about a minute, started burning like hell.  And you guessed it,  RASH & BURN.  So a valuable lesson was learned.  Only use a razor on the head!!!!

Back during the summer I had a dangerous looking black mole removed on the side of my head and ended up using Nair for men on a thumbnail sized excision area (and yes that application was requested and approved by the dermantologist).  Even with that small of an application area, it burned and caused the skin to stay red and tender.  I definitely wouldn't use it on my whole head for any reason.

Yeah they work.  That is if you don't mind having a burning rash on your head for a week.  No hair;  but a burning rash.  I'd stick with the razor.  It'll become routine soon enough.
