If you have no Gatorade another great thing to do is as soon as you get home.

Grab yourself a big glass of water and eat 10 Saltine crackers. The don't taste bad when you are drunk and it will help soak up the vodka or beer.

What if I was drinking Jack?

Then  its 18 and a half crackers with a shot of Cranberry juice

Never have had the opportunity to do this....but I had a science professor tell the class that the quickest way to sober up if you have that "too buzzed" feeling or if you have to drive home is to somehow have access to an oxygen bottle & mask and breathe straight oxygen.

Apparently it radically speeds up the metabolism of the alcohol through the system.   Probably why cool, fresh air makes ya feel better when that "too buzzed" feeling is afoot.

Perhaps Medic or another medically oriented member could elaborate or debunk?

As you can see....mine is 2/3 empty

<-----------------------------

Which is the same damn thing as empty in my rule book.

Which reminds me  0~~

For those of us who REALLY know how to throw back a pint....does it bug you to see another "man" get a nice frothy mug and then take a little girly martini sip off the top?

My mugs are never more than half full within seconds of being served that baby.

By the way....Tyler did not disappoint last Friday O0

For a beer, I couldn't agree more. When I am in a serious drinking mood, I subscribe to something I coined the "burning flame theory". Burn as bright as you can for as long as you can, than pass out.

However, a good martini is meant to be sipped. Any reference to martini & girly in the same sentence shall be ignored.  !@!@

I am with ya, schro-bro.....it's only girly when applied to a beer.

martini sips are for martinis....not beer

I'm pretty sure this works, but I've only had O2 at the same time as an IV.  When I was in college, I was dating a nurse at the health clinic.  A couple of times my buddies and I would go in to get an IV drip and some 02 after a rough night.

Note: The Las Vegas airport has an oxygen bar in it.

Forgot about that one Tyler, but yes it does work.  Used to put the oxygen masks on in the KC130 after a hard night in Ankara, Osan, or whereever.  Always worked.

gatoade/powerade or something like that works for me. don't usually get hangovers. but when i do they are bad. there are some things that you can take before drinking or bed but i haven't tried them. i'll bet rob has some good ideas ;)

I always have good ideas...

The surefire hangover cure is two fold:

1.  Never ever mix your poisons!  That means if you're on beer... stick to beer!  If you're on liquor... stick with one type of liquor!  That means rum and rum shots are ok... but don't throw vodka into the mix...

2. (most of you will not believe this is coming out of my mouth) Moderation and hydration!!!  Have a glass of water every two or three drinks throughout the evening...

However, should you decide to mix up the chemicals or overindulge, try the following (however, there is no known cure for a hangover)...

1.  Drink a LARGE glass or two of water before bed... Mix some lemon juice and honey into at least one of the glasses.
2.  Avoid taking any type of pain killer, i.e., aspirin, Tylenol, Motrin, Aleve, etc, that night (or even the next morning if you drank a lot)... there has been lots of research done and the findings are that mixing these type of pain killers with alcohol can cause liver damage.  I've had two friends that typically took pain killers before going to bed after a night of hard drinking and both had reduced liver function (one was down to 25%, the other 45%).
3.  While the hair of the dog is popular, it really does more damage than good... it will get rid of the hangover, but you will be drunk again.
4.  The next morning, you can take aspirin to help alleviate the pain, and drink a lot of water to rehydrate.

Trust me... I'm a professional drinker from way back!   O0

I'm surprised none of you didn't list the #1 most sure fire cure for any hangover.

Just stay drunk!

If you never stop drinking, you never get hungover.......

Now, excuse me - It's time for another....
