I had a roommate that worked for Johnson and Johnson and gave me a tip on a drug called Motilium that if you take before going to bed will eliminate all posibilities of a hangover in the morining. You can't get it in the U.S. but the pharmacia in Mexico has it...

We bought a bunch when we went to Mexico for his bachelor party...worked great!
You can also get it in the UK.
http://www.motilium.co.ukAs always, check with a doctor before taking any medications.

I'm with Paulie B. on this one. Gatorade has a lot of electrolytes and other nutrients in it that your body needs to help combat the effects of alcohol. My wife used to work for Gatorade in quality control and is pretty knowledgable in food science. She's almost as smart as Melon ... even though she's from California.

Was it the upcoming St. Pat's day brought this to mind? Anyway, I'm with y'all on this one. Best thing is the water/pain killer before bed. Had a professor told us hangover due to drop of potassium and sodium as a result of pissing all night, so the Gatorade is right on I guess. Works for me. Also always found best thing to put in stomach the day after was tomato soup. Problem with being past those college years is you can drink as much as always, just don't bounce back the way you used to.

I agree with Paul and Schro.
Gatorade is the way to go. However, there is a secret to remember.
Have the bottle next to your bed and everytime you go to the bathroom, drink some Gatorade. It may seem like it defeats the purpose of going to the bathroom, but in the long run you will wake up feeling better.

If you have no Gatorade another great thing to do is as soon as you get home.
Grab yourself a big glass of water and eat 10 Saltine crackers. The don't taste bad when you are drunk and it will help soak up the vodka or beer.

Dr. Noner is here to share his 2nd hand knowledge from dating a Pharmacist.
You should never take Ibuprofen for a hangerover. That's goes for all the advil and motrin products too.
Apparently it causes a chemical reaction that can make you quite sick or give you stomach bleeding.
They don't really tell you this and the only waring on the bottle is "you should not consume this product if you have 3 or more alcoholic drinks every day"
Just thought I would give everybody some good advice: Stick to Tylenol.
Dr. Noner
*This advise is not intended as actual medical advice, but is heresay from a Pharmacist that Noner used to date.

In addition to all the above....SLEEP is invaluable. One of the biggest things alcohol does is rob you of deep restorative sleep....even if you "slept" for 7 or 8 hours.
If you've got to work the next day (ya probably shouldn't have been out the night before) but you'll just have to suffer the sleep aspect.
But in addition to the above remedies/preventative measures.....Bitters & Soda is incredible.
Bitters has a small amount of alcohol and lots of healing properties (made from tree bark and other herbs).
Even the small amount of alcohol takes the edge off and you can have it at work....and it's not like having a half-pint of vodka & bloody mary mix at your desk.

Can't believe we've failed to mention the most important part of hangover recovery....the big greasy breakfast the morning after a big bender. Personally, I'm partial to huevos rancheros or corned beef hash with a side of has browns & rye toast.
