WHEN was the last time u were in a car accident?

4 years and 2 days ago, a guy did not negotiate the curve as he was going downhill.  He then bounced on the curb and hit my Chevy Cavalier head on.  My car was totalled.  But I only experienced a broken left wrist.  But it put me out of work for over 2 months as I work warehouse and do a lot of lifting.  They usually say that most accidents happen within a mile or two from home.  I was only six block down the street from my home.  But I am glad for seatbelts and air bags!

My mom and I were driving home from Huntingdon, PA and it started to snow. I was in an 03 Pontiac Sunfire, and I lost control of the car on a side of a mountain. The car swerved and started to head for the guard rail that separated the road from a ravine. I really didnt want to go over the side, so I turned the wheel hard to one side and punched the gas and hit my brakes, trying to turn my nose the other way. I was able to point it back at the mountain, and I slid all the way off the road into the mountain. Needless to say, the mountain won. I was able to still drive home, but I had to put my headlight back into the car. The total damage was the frame shifted, the hood buckled a little, and the front end needed to be replaced. If the frame was shifted anymore, the radiator would have been shot. I was lucky not to be stranded a few states away from home.

Early December, 2005, 4:30a in the morning on the way to the gym.  New Orleans still didn't have any traffic lights after Katrina or streets lights either.  I stopped at a stop sign, mounted on a tripod.  It was a blind corner because of the bridge on the right.  Pulled out and, as Emeril says, BAM!  Some guy in a new Chrysler 300 blew through the intersection and hit the right front wheel--later determined he hit so hard it drove the axle part way into the engine/transmission on the Avalon.  Spun around several times, I came to rest against a pole.  He landed in a parking lot on the other side of the street.  Minor injury to my elbow.  Both cars totalled.  I got my deductible from his insurer.  Later, cleaning out the car at the tow yard, the mechanic said the engine was just about ripped off the car.  If I had been just a little further into the intersection I would have been T Boned big time, my guardian angel must have been with me on the way to the gym that morning.  Replaced the Avalon w/ a Mini Cooper--life has been getting better ever since--shaved the head a little over a year later.

Its been a long long time,  proly 20 years.  But I want to thank you all for mentioning it cause now I will probably get into an accident!

just got my bumper fixed last tuesday (11-3-09).   guess what happened yesterday (11-5-09)... my bumper got rear-ended, again.   thankfully...it wasn't my fault & the man who caused it will pay 4 the damages.  matter of fact... my vehicle is currently in the body shop & i'll get it back sometime 2day. 

i hope this will B the last of my "unlucky" spells of accidents.  i'm sure it will be.

About a year ago someone put a dent in the rear fender of my car in a store parking lot while I was in the store.  Quess what, the jerk didn't leave his name. That irks me big time.

Last July, I stopped for a RED traffic light, and a low-performance driver (19 year old kid) in a high performance car (Mustang 5.0) rear ended my Corolla hard enough to break the seat back off.  I ended up laying in the back seat.  I have been seeing the chiropractor for a couple months , and its getting better. 

Before that it was in 2003.  I was headed for work one dark November morning.  I was on a road between the Deer Grove Forest Preserve and the Village of Deer Park.  You think I'd get a clue...  I was buzzing along at about 50MPH in my Geo Tracker, when suddenly, all I saw was "brown".  Whacked an 8 pointer.  The buck had to be put down by two shots from the gun of an officer from (I kid you not) the Kildeer Police Department.  I had to wait until daylight, but I drove the Tracker home (and blew off work for the day).

August 2006, 11:00 a.m. I was driving a 2004 GMC Envoy and slammed into another car's (Mazda sports) rear near Bridgeview on Tri-State (I-294) in Chicago.  LOL, I got a ticket for following too close (in Chicago??) but I claimed morning sun glare as my reason for not seeing car in front brake lights.  But I think being out-of-state (Michigan) did not help.  Luckily, nobody was hurt but it made WBBM AM 720 radio traffic on  the 8's  report.  I felt so bad waiting for tow truck and watching traffic driving over parts of my front grill / bumper while Illinois officer was writing me.  I took a driver safety course and no points put on my drivers license.  What an experience !  ---Stasiu

Never been in a car accident, I had a street bike accident at 18 years old where I his some gravel and could not stop quick enough and put a little dent in the bumerr of a womans car, the bike did not fall down and neither the bike or myself were damaged.

Racing motocross I have shattered my tibia/fibula, torn acl, brused lung, and had my bell rung a few times.
