Hey guys,

Been losing my hair, very slowly, since I was in college. 

For the first few years, the hair loss bugged the hell out of me.  Over time it started to bother me less and less, until I finally just decided going bald was just part of being a guy, and eventually it pretty much stopped being a problem entirely.  I cut my hair really short, then started shaving it on and off, because I liked the look.  I also decided that when it didn’t look good any more, I’d make a pre-emptive strike and take it down permanently. 

Recently, a friend tried to grab a candid pic of me, and accidentally caught me when I was looking down.  When I saw the shot of the top of my head, I was pretty shocked to see a whole lotta scalp poking through.  I wasn’t “slightly balding” any more – I was straight-up, see-it-from-across-the-room balding. 

I went back and forth about it for a little while, then decided it was time to man up.  The hair finally hit the floor the other day, and I’m pretty happy with the results.  And I’ve got to admit, even though I’ve shaved my head before, taking the final step was way more liberating than I expected.

So anyway, now that I’m an official bald guy, I figured it was time to step up, introduce myself, and represent.

These were my thoughts too. Talking about photos, it's amazing what power can a candid photo have. I just saw a year old picture of me being not-so-sly, taken from a clever angle. It was so embarrasing to look at the picture. Funny feeling, I did know what looked like, and still I feel I never really knew...
